Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge - December
The ODBD challenge for December called for a masculine themed card. I put this one together a few days ago. I "stumbled" upon the challenge and thought I would post with the hopes of helping to hit 50 entries. Now that I'm posting, I see that I'm #51 but I've never played this challenge before and I'm so glad I took the time to read about it! This was one of my sketches I doodled while watching TV. Let me know what you think and thanks for stopping by!

OWH Sketch Challenge #202
I made a couple of cards for Sketch Challenge 202. It was a nice break from my Christmas card mess which I must finish up this week! Here's the sketch:
The first card was love-themed. The DP is actually a Christmas paper but I thought it worked well with my little birdie die, so shhhh...don't tell anyone!
Supplies: Neenah Solar White Cardstock, Pop Tone's Wild Cherry, Coredinations/Tim Holtz' Weathered Wood Cardstock, Lawn Fawn "Peace Joy Love" DSP, Cuttlebug "Cross My Heart" Embossing Folder, Sizzix/Stephanie Barnard's "Birds & Tree" dies and stamps, My Favorite Things' "Lovey Dovey" Sentiment Stamp, Stephanie Barnard/ColorBox Strawberry Ink, Clear Embossing Powder.
The second card was for the Stamps of Life Gallery contest using the November stamp club set and dies. I love the retro TV in this set...looks just like the one I grew up with! I had a stamping boo-boo with the antenna so added a couple of black rhinestones to the tips :-). Thanks for stopping by and have a great week! I'm hoping for snow!!
Supplies: Neenah Solar White Card Stock, DCWV Mod-Retro Paper Stack, Stamps of Life "tv2stamp" stamp set and dies, Stephanie Barnard/ColorBox Licorice Ink, Recollections Black Matte Rhinestones, The Twinery Black/White twine.

OWH Design Bootcamp - How Does It Feel
This month's Design Bootcamp was a great lesson from Paula about Texture - tactile and visual. I was working on the Throwdown Challenge for masculine birthday cards, so this card is missing buttons and bows :-) The link wasn't working for the Throwdown but you can see my other card here.
Visual texture - Found this great weathered wood paper in my stash for the base layer to compliment the sentiment.
Tactile texture - Used a silver Paper Pen to make hubcaps and Glossy Accents for the other chrome pieces. Added smooth silver faux metal dots to resemble the hubcaps.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Spending time with my Dad this week, we found ourselves reminiscing about the fishing trips our family used to go on...all those many years ago. It seemed only right to feature a fish on this Throwdown card. I used OWH Sketch #49, Doodle Pantry's Bass Fish, and added a little upholstery thread to catch the "big one." Thanks for stopping by!

OWH Sketch Challenge #199
Sunday's sketch stumped me at first. I blanked at what to put in the 3 squares. As a last resort, I started looking through my sticker stash. I tend to not use stickers very often...but buy them frequently when they are on sale. Gotta love those sales LOL! I ended up making two cards, changing up the sketch some for the first one, using circles rather than squares. The puppies just seemed to "sit" better. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

OWH Midweek Throwdown - Dry Embossing
The Midweek Throwdown for this week is dry embossing. I pulled a card that included dry embossing out of my OWH box that will be sent later this month. I used a vine embossing folder and then rubbed some fine sandpaper on the leaves for additional texture. I just noticed that the little monkey's eyes are stuck in a wackadoodle way ~ makes him a little cuter, don't you think? Thanks for stopping by!

- Coredinations Green and Brown Cardstock
- Paper House Little Animals Paper Pad

It's a Boy!
Born: November 10, 2013
Width: 4.25”
Name: Uh-Oh
Labor: Two
Hours with no pain!
Uh-Oh was conceived on a rainy Sunday
afternoon. It was my first attempt at
using a digi stamp. After seeing so many
great cards on the OWH blog site using digis, I had to give it a try. This turkey caught my eye on Doodle Pantry’s website, I added the sentiment using some alpha stamps, and ta-da! My first digi card is born. He will be flying the coop shortly and landing
at my nephew’s home for Thanksgiving. I
think I just might try this again!
OWH Sketch Challenge #198
A little late to the Sunday party, but here goes. For Sketch Challenge #198, I decided to make a couple of cards for kids with this great "super hero" paper I had in my stash. My grandson is my super hero and I'm hoping that a deployed hero has their own little "super hero" at home that will enjoy receiving one of these. The measurements are not true to the sketch so I could use the focal points I wanted. Special thanks to Doodle Pantry for sponsoring this challenge. I've never used digis before but ordered and downloaded ~ wish me luck! Thanks for stopping by!

OWH Midweek Throwdown - Any Hero Holiday Cards
The Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown this week is to focus on sending Any Hero Holiday Cards (deadline November 30th). Having had many service members in my family over the years, I know how important it is to reach out during the holiday season when they are missing their families and the sights, sounds, and smells of Christmas at home. I thought I would add a little red, white & blue to the holiday theme to recognize their service to the country as well as wish them happy holidays. Thanks for stopping by and let's send our heroes some holiday love!

OWH Sketch Challenge #197
Today's card for the OWH Sketch Challenge is a Thank You card. I don't remember when I bought this stamp and I don't think I've ever used it...it looked too clean! Anyway, I enjoyed this sketch and turned it on it's side because that's how I scored the base card :-) I'm glad you stopped by and hope you have a great week.

OWH Midweek Throwdown - Seeing Stars
This week's theme on the OWH blog is SEEING STARS. I didn't have a lot of time today so tried to keep it CAS and decided to make an Any Hero card. I die cut a star out of a white layer of cardstock, embossed stars on the layer, attached some DP behind the die cut negative, and adhered the layer to the base card. I then used a ribbon banner, stamped and embossed "You Rock" on the banner, and attached with dimensionals to pop it up a bit. Thanks for stopping by today. Eat, Drink & Be Scary tomorrow!

OWH Midweek Throwdown - Color Challenge
The Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown is a color challenge using pink and green. I agree with Allison ~ what a great combination for Valentines/Love cards! I decided to not use any stamps or inks for this one and went for paper and dies only ~ no special reason - just felt like doing something different. I think the photos of the two cards I made might be a little dark but it's soooo foggy here. Literally like pea soup out there. Thank goodness for the bright colors of this Throwdown to cheer me up :-) Thanks for visiting and another fantastic challenge!
#1 - Love Banner
#2 - Trees of Hearts
#1 Supplies: The Paper Studio "Lola & Luca" Paper Pack, MFT Fishtail Flags dies, Savvy "Love Heart" die, and ribbon from stash.

OWH Sketch Challenge #195
Operation Write Home Sketch #195 was posted yesterday. I was in the middle of finishing my Halloween cards and desperately needed to de-glitter the desk before starting on the sketch. As I was lint rolling the dog hair off my black pants, I thought I'd give the lint roller a try on my craft mat. It worked beautifully and removed all the glitter!! I'm sure many of you already know about this tip, but I felt like I'd invented electricity!! LOL!
Anyway, on to the sketch:
I'm always on a black and white kick ~ I just love how clean it looks. Here's the first card for Valentines Day:
I changed it up for a shabbier, distressed look for the second one:
Supplies: Memory Box Kraft Cardstock, DCWV "A Type of Art" Matstack, Sizzix/Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die, EK Success leaf punch, Memory Box button die, floss.
Thanks for stopping by ~ have a great week!
