You Are Special

The CAS-ual Friday Challenge (CFC131) is all about threes. The idea is to use three of something on just 1/3 of the card and keep it clean and simple.  My card uses a 3-word sentiment, 3 butterflies, and 3 copic-colored rhinestones.  There's also 3 score lines but they didn't show up so well in the photo :-(

CFC129: Shades of Gray

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge is back and I'm excited about the recent changes!  The CFC129 theme is Shades of Gray and, even though we now have until March 21st to play, I had a new stamp that was begging to be inked up.  I have a cloud punch but I wanted a bigger, fluffier cloud so I used the frosting stamp and die from a birthday set.  I added tiny rhinestones to the raindrops and finished it off with my new stamp.  Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific weekend...in cute boots!

CFC128: So Long

The challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays is in honor of their Girl Friday Team as they finish out their term.  There was also a twist to create a card that is long and not a traditional A2.  My 3 x 5 card is below.  I used Impression Obsession's "Clouds" as the background stamp, Tim Holtz' "Lost and Found" Stamp Set for the birds flying off into the sky, and a sentiment from The Stamps of Life "thanks4twoyears" stamp set.  I thought the birds represented the team as they flew off to new adventures along with a big thank you for their time and inspiration.  Thanks for visiting!

CFC127: Over the Edge

The CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #127 was to create a project that had some type of element that extends over the edge.  The Valentine's card I created used a bracket die for the sentiment and a couple of steaming, foaming lattes in my favorite black coffee cups.  Thanks for stopping by!

CFC126: Color Blocks

This challenge from CAS-ual Fridays was to use blocks of color on a CAS card.  My card is just stamps and ink and 3 little blings!  Pretty simple using the double stamping technique with a great stamp set from The Stamps of Life called "tiles2stamp."  I used PowderPuff Chalking Inks in Green Tea, Baja Blue, and Tahiti to fill in the tiles.  The flower and sentiment are from The Stamps of Life "Make a Wish" set.  To finish it off, I added three small black rhinestones from Ki Memories.  Thanks for the challenge and have a great week!

  

CFC125: In a Word

I've enjoyed the CAS-ual Fridays blog for a while and decided to play for the first time.  I liked the challenge of choosing a word to describe what I hope for in the new year.  For this challenge, I chose the word "colorful."  One of the reasons I chose this word was I hope to spend more time in 2014 playing with different color mediums and using different techniques in my card making.  In other words...crawl out of my box once in a while!

For this card, I colored the flower stamp with Derwent Inktense pencils and misted it with water before stamping on watercolor paper for a watercolor effect.  The sentiment is from Stamps of Life and the focal point was die cut with the deckled rectangles from Spellbinders.  Thanks for visiting and I look forward to the next challenge!
