PP244: Color Challenge

The more I played with the colors in The Paper Players Challenge #244, the more I loved them!  I also have to say the cards from the DT are absolutely beautiful this week and you really should check them out.  I plan on CASE'ing  many of them :-)

I went with the closest cardstock I had on hand and a birthday theme using the cupcake stamp & die set from The Stamps of Life.  The sentiment (PrintWorks) was stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black ink.  The cupcake embossed background is an EF from The Paper Studio.  The sprinkles and larger dots were circles punched out of scraps, colored with clear Wink of Stella, then coated with Glossy Accents.  They look like enamel dots but not as pricey!

I'm also linking this card up to Operation Write Home's ODBD May Challenge for Embossing.  Our Daily Bread Designs donates shipping fees to OWH based on the number of entries received, up to 50 cards.  It's a good thing!  Thanks for visiting ~ have a cupcake kinda day!

A Couple of Cards

Happy Friday!  Today I'm posting a couple of cards for Operation Write Home.  The first one is for the Our Daily Bread Designs April Challenge to create a masculine card.  ODBD sponsors OWH card shipments based on the number of entries.  I'm also entering it into the Crooked Stamper Sketch Challenge #3:

The anchor die from Spellbinders Inspired collection had never been used (what a surprise :-).  I used silver metallic paper for the anchor and the sentiment (Lawn Fawn) was anchored with tiny staples.

The second card is using OWH Sketch #251:

I went with a generic love card, using yummy DP scraps.  The cardbase is TSOL Bubblegum and the die cut flower is from Sizzix' Flower Triplets.

That's all for today!  If you get a chance, please check out the kids card challenge at Cards in Envy and the Earth Has Music Challenge with Words 2 Scrap By!  They are collaborating with Shopping our Stash this week...it's a two-fer!  Have a wonderful weekend :-)

ODBD April Challenge: Insects

Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge for Operation Write Home is insects!  Very timely as a few bees buzzed around my head this morning ~ a sure sign of spring :-)  For this challenge, ODBD donates up to two boxes of free shipping for our heroes–1 for 25 cards posted and 2 for 50.

My card was created using the Doodle Pantry's New Butterfly image.  I fussy cut the butterfly twice so I could pop up another layer of the wings while still keeping it pretty flat for OWH.  Then I added some EK Success gold metallic paint dots to the image,  The antennae are little bits of upholstery thread. The white swiss dot layer was die cut with a circle die and the circle was inked up with distress inks.  I heat embossed the sentiment, and popped the circle back into the negative.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Supplies:  The Paper Studio Blue Cardstock, Neenah Solar White Cardstock, Doodle Pantry New Butterfly image, Jillibean Soup "Butterflies" Stamp Set, VersaFine Onyx Black Ink, Judikins Clear Embossing Powder, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Spellbinders Circle Dies, Distress Inks (Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed).

Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge - December

The ODBD challenge for December called for a masculine themed card.  I put this one together a few days ago.  I "stumbled" upon the challenge and thought I would post with the hopes of helping to hit 50 entries.  Now that I'm posting, I see that I'm #51 but I've never played this challenge before and I'm so glad I took the time to read about it!  This was one of my sketches I doodled while watching TV.   Let me know what you think and thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:  Memory Box Kraft Cardstock, Fancy Pants Designs "Swagger" 6x6 Paper Pad, VersaFine Vintage Sepia Ink, MFT "To The Point" Stamp Set, Memory Box Button dies, and May Arts Twine.
