Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge - December

The ODBD challenge for December called for a masculine themed card.  I put this one together a few days ago.  I "stumbled" upon the challenge and thought I would post with the hopes of helping to hit 50 entries.  Now that I'm posting, I see that I'm #51 but I've never played this challenge before and I'm so glad I took the time to read about it!  This was one of my sketches I doodled while watching TV.   Let me know what you think and thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:  Memory Box Kraft Cardstock, Fancy Pants Designs "Swagger" 6x6 Paper Pad, VersaFine Vintage Sepia Ink, MFT "To The Point" Stamp Set, Memory Box Button dies, and May Arts Twine.

OWH Sketch Challenge # 205 (a & b)

I enjoyed this sketch challenge.  It looked perfect for using a 6x6 paper pad and multiples.  For grins, I rotated the sketch and liked it even more so I renamed them for my library :-). Thanks for stopping by...back to the football game...Go Seahawks!!!

OWH Midweek Throwdown - Love Cards for Kids

I used the OWH Missing You set from Hero Arts again for this Midweek Throwdown.  I love their eyes!  Just cut a branch, added some leaves and clouds, colored, fussy cut, and popped up the little guy.   Also added some Glossy Accents to the eyes and the little nut. This little guy looks just like the squirrel that taunts my puppies from the backyard :-).  That's it for today - thanks for stopping by - off to bake cookies!

OWH Midweek Throwdown - General Love Theme

CAS for the girly card today!  I stenciled the hearts on a white layer, stamped and embossed the sentiment, and added some twine...easy peasy!  When I finished I thought it would be fun to change up the ink colors but not enough time today :-)

Supplies:
  • Neenah Solar White Cardstock
  • Stampers Anonymous "Never Enough Hearts" Stencil
  • Ranger Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick and Sponge Dauber
  • VersaFine Onyx Black Ink
  • Recollections Clear Embossing Powder
  • Sentiment is from a Clear Stamp Set from Hobby Lobby (oops...I threw away the packaging!)
  • The Twinery Pink/White Twine
For the manly card, I kept the sentiment simple and did a little distressing.  After I finished, I thought the sentiment would look great on a school-type pennant.  Why did the ideas start flowin' after I finished a card today?  Oh well, thanks for taking a look!  Hope you're having a good week!

    Supplies:

  • Memory Box Black and Gray Cardstock
  • DSP from stash
  • My Favorite Things Blueprint #1 die set
  • My Favorite Things "Lovey Dovey" Sentiment Stamp
  • VersaFine Onyx Black Ink
  • Recollections Clear Embossing Powder
  • Ranger Distress Ink in Pumice Stone
  • Craftworkcards Red Mini Candy
  • The Twinery Black/White Twine

OWH Sketch Challenge #202

I made a couple of cards for Sketch Challenge 202.  It was a nice break from my Christmas card mess which I must finish up this week!  Here's the sketch:

The first card was love-themed.  The DP is actually a Christmas paper but I thought it worked well with my little birdie die, so shhhh...don't tell anyone!

Supplies:  Neenah Solar White Cardstock, Pop Tone's Wild Cherry, Coredinations/Tim Holtz' Weathered Wood Cardstock, Lawn Fawn "Peace Joy Love" DSP, Cuttlebug "Cross My Heart" Embossing Folder, Sizzix/Stephanie Barnard's "Birds & Tree" dies and stamps, My Favorite Things' "Lovey Dovey" Sentiment Stamp, Stephanie Barnard/ColorBox Strawberry Ink, Clear Embossing Powder.

The second card was for the Stamps of Life Gallery contest using the November stamp club set and dies.  I love the retro TV in this set...looks just like the one I grew up with!  I had a stamping boo-boo with the antenna so added a couple of black rhinestones to the tips :-).  Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!  I'm hoping for snow!!

Supplies:  Neenah Solar White Card Stock, DCWV Mod-Retro Paper Stack, Stamps of Life "tv2stamp" stamp set and dies, Stephanie Barnard/ColorBox Licorice Ink, Recollections Black Matte Rhinestones, The Twinery Black/White twine.

  • DCWV Mod Retro Paper Stack
  • Annette Watkins Sentiment Stamp
