Freshly Made Sketches #381: Sketch by Lee Ann

Hello! I received some Distress Oxide Spray Inks for my birthday and really wanted to get inky and play.  I'm playing along with FMS #381 this week ~ it's such a great sketch to feature backgrounds, big sentiments or patterned paper!

I created a few backgrounds with my sprays and decided to use this one, adding some Perfect Pearls for shine.  The dandelion die cut in navy cardstock is from Sizzix' Wildflower Stems and the great sentiment from Picket Fence Studios' Dandelion Wishes stamp set.  I finished it off with some glittery washi tape.

The Paper Players #434: Joanne's Sketch Challenge

Hi there! Today I'm playing along over at The Paper Players with Joanne's sketch challenge.  I love her sketches because they usually have layers and it's a great chance to use up some of the pretty DP that needs to be used!

Here's an Easter card that started with Echo Park's Easter Blessings DP and then I added SOL's Chocolate Bunny stamps and dies.  I die cut the chocolate bunny 4 times and glued them together to give it some dimension. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. I was going to "bite" off an ear but I adhered her to the card before I remembered 😄

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a good week!

The Paper Players #433: CAS Challenge from Jaydee

Hi all! Can I just say that today was a beautiful sunny day? I think the snow and cold are making room for Spring to take over. At least I hope so! I made a quick CAS card for the latest Paper Players challenge:

The challenge is to make a CAS One Layer Wonder card. I made this one as a thank you using Catherine Pooler's 'Best in You' stamp set (love the funky flowers), CP Inks, and Ellen Hutson's 'Totally Random Sayings' for the sentiment.  The card base is Neenah Solar White. Sometimes simple CAS cards that are just stamped directly on the card base take me 2 or 3 tries...this one was the first try and I still can't believe it!

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great week and Happy Spring!

FMS #379: A Sketch by Judy

Wishing you a Happy St. Patrick's Day and a very quick post!  The family was Irish for the day and everything was green. It was a fun day and I hope you had a great time too! I made this card yesterday but forgot to post for FMS #379. I realized I still have time so yay for me!

The Paper Players #432: Claire's Color Challenge

Who doesn't love a rainbow! I'm playing along over at The Paper Players this week where the lovely Claire has a rainbow color challenge:

I was recently playing with my alcohol inks and made a bunch of rainbow colored backgrounds. Jennifer McGuire had published a YouTube video a little while back so I gave her technique a try and ended up with 10 backgrounds!  If you give it a try, be careful...it's addictive!

I used one of the rainbow backgrounds to die cut the MFT Stripes Cover-Up and also die cut some white cardstock so I could inlay the white strips into the rainbow frame/cover-up.

I then added the WOW die cut and embossed sentiment (MFT) and finished it off with SU Clear Glitter Epoxy Shapes. I kept it pretty simple so the rainbow was the star of the show!

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a great week 😉
