The Paper Players #356: Theme Challenge

Welcome back for another fun challenge over at The Paper Players!  This week is our Theme Challenge hosted by super talented Nance:

Are you ready to enjoy the great outdoors?  Here's my card:

This "Heron" die from Die-Versions reminds me of a lake inland that has a beautiful view of the Olympics and the many herons that I see every day enjoying the great outdoors (and lots of fish!). The background was inked up with Distress Oxide inks and a sentiment from Stampin' Up's Bunch of Blossoms was heat embossed with Ranger fine detail white EP. The DCWV card base must be at least 5 years old from a box of blank cards I picked up at Michaels with a coupon, of course.  I liked how the blue chevrons matched the background and the cardstock is 110# before they went to the lighter weight stuff :)

So, head to your craft room and show us how you enjoy the great outdoors!  Don't forget to check out the fun inspiration from the DT too!  Thanks for stopping by 😎

Dropping You a Lime

Hi there!  It's very hot here today and a perfect time to play along with the latest CASology challenge:

Anything cold and juicy sounds good to me right now...like a lime rickey?

I used the "Orange You Sweet" set from Concord & 9th.  Rather than an orange, I went with Catherine Pooler's Lime Rickey and Garden Party ink for a juicy lime.  The sentiment is also from the same set.  I did sparkle up the lime slice with Nuvo's Gloss Glitter but, you know, just doesn't photograph well :(

I did want to say congrats to CASology for their 5 year anniversary celebration last week which, unfortunately, I had to miss.    It's an awesome challenge with jaw-dropping inspiration that I truly enjoy playing in every chance I get.

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a good week!  Cheers!

Too Much Happy?

I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!  I spent some time cleaning up The Dog House and organizing my stash between beach and BBQ time.  My card this morning is for the current sketch challenge over at The The Paper Players:

It's nothing fancy - no trendy products or techniques - just happy stash items for a happy card:

Here's the stuff I used:
Card Base - Bazzill Banana Split
     DSP - My Favorite Things
Sentiment - The Paper Studio ATC (happy find in a drawer that begged to be on a card :)
Other - Recollections Epoxy Smiley Faces, Wink of Stella

I'd also like to send hugs to my former I-Teamers and link this up to my alma mater, Words 2 Craft By, for the happy party theme happening over there right now.

Thanks for visiting ~ have a great week!

Sprinkles, Please!

Happy SUNday!  Only one card today because the sun is out and the beach is calling!  My card today uses the latest sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

And the theme from The Paper Players:

And because I've been craving donuts for some strange reason:

I "frosted" the donut die cut with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in Peony Pink and then added some glittery sprinkles from Recollections.  The hardest part of this card was keeping my fingers out of the mousse before it dried!  The dies & sentiment (Donuts & Sprinkles), background stamp (Pinstripes) and scrap DSP (Hearts & Stripes) are all from My Favorite Things.  The inks are from Catherine Pooler Designs in Mint to Be and Party Dress.

Thanks for looking ~ I hope YOUR day is sprinkled with fun!

Art from the Heart

Hi there!  Ugh...I woke up at 4:30 this morning (yawn) but the beautiful sunrise was worth it!  It was also a perfect morning to make a card so I tackled the latest CASology Challenge - Art:

I'd been itching to use a new stamp set I had ordered from Rubbernecker.  I thought these wildflowers were so pretty and airy with an artful watercolor look.  It's a four stamp layering set that I'll admit took some practice on copy paper first!  I thought it needed a bit of a background so I blended in some pastel blue chalk for contrast.  Hmmm, I think this set would make a beautiful fall card with yellows, oranges, and browns too!

Here's the stuff I used:
Cardstock - Neenah Solar White
Stamp(s) - Wildflowers in the Wind (Rubbernecker Stamps); sentiment (Gina K.)
Ink(s) - Gina K., VersaFine Onyx Black
Other:  MFT Stitched Rectangle die, Pebbles Chalk

Thanks so much for stopping by ~ I hope I can stay awake to enjoy the sunny day!

Shopping our Stash #251: April Showers bring May Flowers

Whew!  I made this challenge in time, I hope!  April Showers bring May Flowers AND Rainbows :-)

I pulled out my Distress Inks and was practicing my "rainbows."  I thought it made a nice backdrop for these simple blooms from My Favorite Things.  I used a sentiment from Gina K. that gives me a little creative license with the inside...birthday, sympathy, etc...whatever I may need at the time.  A few sequins tossed in and I mounted the stitched layer to Hero Arts black notecard from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by ~ have a great week!

The Paper Players Sketch Challenge #242

Yum!  I saw watermelon at the store the other day and it reminded me that I love this colorful, fruity time of year!  So for The Paper Players Sketch Challenge #242, I knew I had to see what those Doodle Pantry wacky ants were up to, and sure enough, they like watermelon too!

I flipped the sketch horizontally and used the DP and image from "Watermelon Ants."   The sentiment is an old rubber stamp (Hampton Arts, I think?).  All of the dies used are from My Favorite Things.

Hmmm, might have to try some salt on my next piece of watermelon!  Thanks for stopping by!

Awareness

For Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #269, I wanted to focus on Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

It's the perfect sketch to focus on the pink ribbon.  The image and sentiment are from Doodle Pantry's "Special Ribbons" set.  The dies are all from My Favorite Things and the DP is from Doodlebug Designs.

For Sandra

I'll also be entering this card in Little C's Challenges - Breast Cancer Awareness, # LCC1.  Doodle Pantry is sponsoring their first challenge, so I hope you'll check it out and join in the fun.  Thanks so much for stopping by and supporting the message!

W2SB #10: Paved with Paw Prints

Happy October!  Inspired by National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, Words 2 Scrap By's October Challenge theme is "The road to my heart is paved with paw prints."  This really hits home for me.  My four rescue pups are pictured at the top right of this blog.  It all started when I brought a stray home at age 6 and I've been happily adopting ever since!  So, with the fondest memories and many paw prints on my heart, this card is for Tinkerbelle, B.D., Beau, Josie, Abe, Chloe, Bailey, and Harley - for ending many of my days with dog slobber :-)

On the Road Again

Good Sunday Morning!  Doodle Pantry is sponsoring another fantastic challenge over on the Sentimental Sundays Blog and the theme is "Let's ride" (vehicles).   For my card, I used the cool red mustang image from the Doodle Pantry set called "Classic Cars 2."   I fussy cut the car and popped it up on some map DP from Paper Pizazz.  The sentiment is from another great Doodle Pantry set called "On the Road."   I added some washi tape for the road and a flourish from The Paper Studio.

I hope you'll join in the fun over at Sentimental Sundays and stop by the Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge #50 as well.  Thanks so much for visiting!

Are We There Yet?

My second post for the day was just for fun and to send off friends for the big Labor Day Weekend camping trip.  The map, jeep and trailer image are from one of the August releases for Doodle Pantry called "On the Road" and I merged some trees from the "Happy Trails Camper" set.  I added a little geo tag to mark the spot and the sentiment is something I'm sure we're all used to hearing!

Thanks for stopping by and happy trails to you for this last big weekend before school starts!  Mark your calendars for September 1st to check out the new releases from Doodle Pantry.  There are some awesome images coming your way...

Foxy

Hello!  When I won the Tuesday Morning Sketches #261 Challenge recently, I won a gift certificate to Yours or Mine Paper Crafts.  I used my "winnings" on this beautiful die from Spellbinders called "Foxy."  Mei was wonderful to work with and if you haven't checked out her shop, you might want to stop by.  I saw a number of things that I've never seen in my local box stores.

This was Sketch Challenge #237 from Operation Write Home:

I flipped the sketch and decided to leave off a sentiment thinking it could be used for many different occasions.  Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a good week!

Relax

Hello!  I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining the Cards In Envy Design Team!  I've loved participating in their challenges and I'm very flattered to be joining such a talented group!

My first card for CIE is for the challenge "Toes in the Sand."  Any time my toes are in the sand, it is relaxation time!  The A2 card layout is from Operation Write Home Sketch #232.  I used chalks for the background, paper pieced the umbrella, and heat embossed the sentiment.  The button is a die cut so this card is flat!

I hope you'll play along at Cards in Envy and I can't wait to see what you create.  Thanks so much for stopping by!
