Freshly Made Sketches #376

Hello friends! This morning I woke up toooo early from the pounding rain, so I grabbed a cuppa and made a birthday card using the latest sketch by Karren over at Freshly Made Sketches:

I really liked this sketch and the flexibility! There were so many different ways to interpret it. I went with a simple one layer card and inked up the balloons from Concord & 9th's Birthday Stacks with Catherine Pooler's vibrant inks (Party Dress, Tiara, & Fiesta Blue). I stamped the bottom border with the same pink ink using a striped border stamp from Concord & 9th's Peek Through stamp set.  The sentiment is Lawn Fawn's Happy Birthday border die. I trimmed off the "to you" so it would fit 😉.

Seize the Birthday #159: Anything Goes

Hi! Back again with a birthday card for the latest challenge over at Seize the Birthday. 

I was able to make a couple of cards yesterday for challenges.  I've really missed playing along with many of my favorites. Yesterday, though, the residual tremors from the chemo treatments had subsided and I was so excited to get inky!  

 I played with new Confetti stencils from MFT and Concord & 9th's Happy Balloons stamps and dies for this card. I used Catherine Pooler inks in 3 different colors: All That Jazz, Grass Skirt, and Fiesta Blue, on a SU Whisper White card base.

I finished the inside with the stencils and a new sentiment die from MFT that I ink blended before die cutting:

The Paper Players #429: Monochromatic CAS

Hi there! Today I'm linking up to a couple of challenges.  The first challenge is for The Paper Players and it's Clean & Simple week.  The theme is to keep it monochromatic which I thought was such a fun idea! I rarely make monochromatic cards...not sure why? I really liked playing along with this one:

I kept my one layer card CAS and used minimal supplies.  Maybe that's the part I liked the most...I could still see the top of my desk when I was done!

Cards in Envy's Final Challenge

I found out this weekend that the Cards in Envy Challenge was wrapping up with their final challenge after six fun years.  I was honored to be on the Design Team for two of those years and loved the themes that Sandy would come up with ❤.  CIE was the very first challenge that I entered as a card maker. I was making a lot of Operation Write Home cards (no lumps or bumps) and CIE was a welcoming place to play.  

CIE was the late Denise Gray's brainchild to create a challenge inspiring cards that were flat enough to easily mail.  Her very first challenge was a sketch challenge and that's how it will end:

The Paper Players #427: Joanne's Theme Challenge

I love making Valentines and Joanne's theme challenge over at The Paper Players was perfect for me this week!

The hardest part about making this card was using SU's Painted Love DSP.  I just love the colors and designs of that paper!  I've just been saving it (or hoarding it) but it was time to cut into it and share the joy! 

The coral and pink stamped and die cut hearts are from My Favorite Things and popped up over some gold metallic washi from Heidi Swapp. The stitched and scalloped rectangle die cuts are oldies from Sugar Pea Designs.
