A Halloween Hello

Hello Friends! I played a bit in the craft room this morning before the football game. Before I put away Halloween, I just had to give a home to a few images I had already colored.  I used the latest Freshly Made Sketches challenge to kick start the cardmaking:

Supplies I Used:
Memory Box Cardstock
MFT 'Witch Way is the Candy?' stamps & dies
DCWV 'Spooky Time' DSP
Dylusions Black Marble Spray Ink
Copics & Prismacolor Pencils
Glossy Accents
Sharpie White Pen
Gelly Clear Star Pen

I'd also like to enter this card over at Shopping our Stash #407 where the theme is Halloween.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Halloween!

Hugs,
Annie

Freshly Made Sketches #404

Hi friends! I made a couple of cards today to play along with challenges.  The first card was for the latest Freshly Made Sketch #404:

Now as I look at it, I probably should have cut down the layer a bit more but I just couldn't do it!  The background stamp from Taylored Expressions called Bloomin' Background was so perfect for this sketch with the oval 'built in' with the background.  I spent so much time watercoloring with my Zigs, adding sparkle with my Nuvo Glitter pen, and white gel pen accents, I wanted to keep as many of the blooms as possible 😉.  I layered it on the card base after adding 3 hello black die cuts, glued together.  Hopefully I'll be forgiven!

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you had a great weekend!

Happy Fall Y'All!

A Break from Summer Outdoor Projects!

Hi friends! It's been a busy few weeks. Beautiful weather and lots of company and many outdoor projects but today I was anxious to get in the craft room and play along with a couple of challenges!

The first card is for The Paper Players Theme Challenge hosted by the lovely Claire:

AND to help celebrate Freshly Made Sketches 400th Challenge, I used their sketch that was the very first sketch when the challenge launched 8 years ago. Congratulations!!

I made a school-themed card for my DGS who will be in 4th Grade this year...I can't believe it! I've had this DCWV 'Grade School' paper pad forever that is my go to for school cards.  I white heat embossed the sentiment on a die cut apple (Stamps of Life) and added some VersaMark background dots with a pencil eraser. All were layered on a Hero Arts Black Notecard.

The second card is for the Seize the Birthday AG Challenge with a topping of Flowers:

I watercolored this floral arrangement from Concord & 9th with Zig Clean Color Markers. The MFT Pinstripe background was stamped on a white card base with Catherine Pooler 'It's a Girl' pink ink.  I used a sentiment from MFT's June or July 2016 card kit, white heat embossed on black cardstock, and cut it up and popped it up to work with the 'Wonderful' sentiment.  Nuvo Purple Rain Glitter Drops were added for a little bling to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're having an amazing summer!

Annie

Freshly Made Sketches #394

Hi there! Back again with a card for the latest Freshly Made Sketches Challenge:

I used another one of my Distress Ink backgrounds I made last weekend DTP - swiping the ink cubes across a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock. It's pretty bold...just like my friend!

I used the Friend die from MFT to die cut the main element of the sketch.  Adding a few 'Plentiful Petals' stamps and dies from MFT and some Nuvo Dream Drops finished off this card.  It's fun how the iridescent Dream Drops take on the colors of the distressed background!

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a great weekend!

Hugs,
Annie

Freshly Made Sketches #393

Happy Summer!  I played a bit this morning to make a card for the latest Freshly Made Sketches challenge:

I was cleaning out older rubber stamps for a donation and found one that I don't remember ever using! It's called 'Ranunculus Field' by Stampendous and I LOVE it.  Rather than going in the donation box, I inked it up in black and heat embossed.  Instead of coloring with Copics or watercolors, I inked up the solid circles from Lawn Fawn's 'Let's Bokeh' stamp set to loosely add color to the flowers.  I used Catherine Pooler inks in Coral Cabana, Samba, and Tutti Frutti.  I also used the Tutti Frutti ink pad direct to paper for matching cardstock. The black/white strip is a MFT DSP scrap and the white heat embossed sentiment is from MFT's 'Greetings & Salutations' stamp set.  I'm definitely keeping that rubber stamp!

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a great first weekend of the summer!

Hugs,
Annie

Freshly Made Sketches #391

Lucky me! I was able to make a couple of cards today 😁.  I wanted to play along over at Freshly Made Sketches with this sketch by Amy:

I set up the stamps in the Misti and stamped the images with orange ink on white cardstock and again on the orange card base.  I trimmed the white 'spotlight' piece and added the black/white DSP layer before mounting on the card base.  The sentiment was white heat embossed and die cut.  I liked this sketch and it made for an easy peasy thank you card!

Here are the supplies I used:

MFT Orange Fizz cardstock
Neenah Solar White cardstock
MFT DSP
Catherine Pooler Orange Twist ink
Wplus9 Citrus Background Builder stamps
Concord & 9th Orange You Sweet stamps
MFT Sweet Die-namics

Thanks for stopping by!

Annie

Freshly Made Sketches #388

Welcome back! Here's the second card for the day using the latest sketch from Freshly Made Sketches as a jumping off point:

I hope I didn't "jump" too far off the sketch. I stamped the center layer with Catherine Pooler's inks and border stamp.  I added the parrot and tropical leaves from Altenew's 'Parrot Paradise' and some fun sequins from Neat & Tangled.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great week!

Annie

Freshly Made Sketches #381: Sketch by Lee Ann

Hello! I received some Distress Oxide Spray Inks for my birthday and really wanted to get inky and play.  I'm playing along with FMS #381 this week ~ it's such a great sketch to feature backgrounds, big sentiments or patterned paper!

I created a few backgrounds with my sprays and decided to use this one, adding some Perfect Pearls for shine.  The dandelion die cut in navy cardstock is from Sizzix' Wildflower Stems and the great sentiment from Picket Fence Studios' Dandelion Wishes stamp set.  I finished it off with some glittery washi tape.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week!

Freshly Made Sketches #376

Hello friends! This morning I woke up toooo early from the pounding rain, so I grabbed a cuppa and made a birthday card using the latest sketch by Karren over at Freshly Made Sketches:

I really liked this sketch and the flexibility! There were so many different ways to interpret it. I went with a simple one layer card and inked up the balloons from Concord & 9th's Birthday Stacks with Catherine Pooler's vibrant inks (Party Dress, Tiara, & Fiesta Blue). I stamped the bottom border with the same pink ink using a striped border stamp from Concord & 9th's Peek Through stamp set.  The sentiment is Lawn Fawn's Happy Birthday border die. I trimmed off the "to you" so it would fit 😉.

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great weekend!  We have a Chocolate Festival going on so you know where I'll be!

perfectly WONDERFUL!

Back again with the third and final card I made yesterday during the downpour! I really wanted to play along over at Freshly Made Sketches since it had also been a while:

MFT Jumbo Abstract Art was used for the watercolor stripes with Distress Ink on a stitched rectangle. I had this SU Petal Palette die cut on my desk, all colored up and waiting for a project. I popped it up and added a sentiment from Altenew's 'You Are' stamp set.  Finished the card off with some Wink of Stella and Pretty Pink Posh Confetti.

Have a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by!

Hello Friend!

Hi friends!  I have a card today for a couple of challenges:

Freshly Made Sketches #343
The Card Concept #96 (Inspired by colors, table sign, and gold elements)

I thought the FMS sketch was perfect for a clean and layered look for this card.  I painted a watercolor wash with SU Calypso Coral and gold heat embossed the big sentiment from Mama Elephant. I layered the watercolor piece onto Tim Holtz Gold Metallic cardstock.  The DSP border is from SU Painted With Love that I've been hoarding saving since Valentines Day!  I finished the card off with Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Gold Confetti. I love those colors from TCC's awesome photo inspiration!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

FMS #342

I hope you're enjoying some sun this weekend!  Before the sun broke through here, I wanted to play with the latest Freshly Made Sketch which I loved!

Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card for a neighbor.  Not my favorite type of card to make but I was happy with the result and hope it gives her some peace.

I stamped the textured background from SU's You've Got This with SU Crumb Cake ink on a Crumb Cake Notecard.  The SU Very Vanilla layer was first stamped with a text stamp from Catherine Pooler's Birds of a Feather stamp set and then I distressed the edges with Antique Linen before layering on the card base.  The sentiment is from Altenew's Parrot Paradise stamp set and stamped in a little darker brown, distressed, and layered over a snippet of ribbon.  The Zig watercolored floral is from SU's Petal Palette stamp & die bundle.  I finished it off with some SU glitter enamel dots which were not planned but covered up an inky finger 'oops.'

Thanks so much for stopping by! The sun broke through and I'm off to the Sand & Sawdust Festival.  Lots of fantastic woodcarving artists and sand sculptures.  Let's hope the tide doesn't come in!  Have a great day!

Ka-Boom!

Hello friends!  A quick card this morning before it got too warm outside (and in)...not that I'm complaining.  This card is for the latest Freshly Made Sketches Challenge:

I always send out a few cards for the 4th of July to folks I know I won't be seeing.  I thought this sketch was perfect for a couple of fireworks!

There's lots of sparkle!

On SU Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the first layer of the MFT Fireworks stamp in Catherine Pooler Something Borrowed ink.  Then I stamped the second layer with Catherine Pooler Rockin' Red, then VersaMark, and then heat embossed with PK Glitz Chinese Firecracker Glitter EP.  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Happy 4th stamp set, heat embossed with Ranger White EP.  I used MFT's Wonky Stitched Rectangle die and layered on a SU Whisper White card base.  The sentiment was popped up and a few Queen & Co. Twinkle Stars added for good measure.  Ka-boom!

I hope you're having a great Father's Day ~ thanks for visiting!

Life is Tough but so are YOU

Hi there!  One more post tonight for the latest Freshly Made Sketches Challenge:

I used Bristol for this card, the base and all of the layers.  The Wildflowers in the Wind from Rubbernecker was stamped with Distress Inks, spritzed with water.  The Watercolor Stripes background from MFT was also stamped with Wilted Violet Distress Ink, spritzed with water.  The sentiment is from Ellen Hutson.  I finished it off with some natural black twine from May Arts and a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

I had leftover stripes, so I made one more with a sentiment from MFT and natural green twine from May Arts.  I modified the Rubbernecker stamps I used for a little different look.  I really liked this sketch...I rarely make two of the same card!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week...looks like some sunny days at the beach are coming our way!

Pre-Spring Cleaning!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  I thought I'd do some pre-spring cleaning of the craft desk this morning before the parade.  I also challenged myself to only use what I found on my desk to play along with a few challenges before putting things away!

The first card is for Freshly Made Sketches:

On a Kraft card base, I layered the Distress Watercolor piece that had been embossed with a Prima Wave Stencil, watercolored with Distress Oxides, and die cut with a Wonky Rectangle (MFT).  The Adirondack chair die cut was from Stampin' Up's Seasonal Framelits in my die cuts "to be used sometime" stash.

The second card was for the current Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge:

I went with the Middle Row, Across - Watercolor, any Type of Accents, & Monogrammed.  I layered the Concord & 9th 'H' monogram stamp & die cut onto a Neenah Solar White card base that had been splattered with Distress Ink watercolor in Squeezed Lemonade. Die cut florals and enamel dots were added as accents.  H is for...Happy Easter!

The last card today was for the CASology challenge:

I saw my first bumble bee of the season yesterday, so I had to go with it!  The bumble bee is from Stampin' Up's Dragonfly dreams and I added the sentiment with my old label maker.  This will be another lunchbox note for my DGS!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you're having a wonderful weekend...with or without green beer!  Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
