Hey, Hottie!

It's Sunday and time for another Operation Write Home sketch challenge.  Sketch #231 - I like it, I like it, and will probably use it over and over!

I was able to use up scraps from my 4th of July cards AND ink up this month's stamp set from Stamps of Life called "hot4balloons" AND use the coordinating dies.  Doesn't take much to make me happy!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fun and safe 4th of July!

Sea You Soon

A friend told me about the Shopping Our Stash challenge.  It looked like fun fun fun, so I thought I'd give it a whirl.  The current theme is to use your oldest punch or die.

My oldest punch is my trusty old Fiskars Scallop border punch.  In fact, I think it was the first "tool" I purchased for my cardmaking adventures!  I went with a pretty simple card this morning and did some layering to give the impression of the ocean with a few whitecaps in the distance.  Here you go:

Supplies:  DCWV cardstock, Stamps of Life "turtle2love" stamp set, Fiskars scallop border punch, Jolee's Boutique flip flops & starfish, VersaFine Sepia ink.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic weekend!

Hole in One

Cards in Envy's latest challenge is FUN IN THE SUN.  We're inspired to create an A2 card that features what we like to do in the sun.  Well, I like to golf and only in the sun!  Fair weather golfer...yes, I am!  Hole in One?  A girl can only dream...

My card is using the "Golf Ball" Freebie set (digi image, papers & sentiment) from Doodle Pantry.  And there's still time to enter Doodle Pantry's "Make it Manly" Challenge that closes on June 24th.  You can check it out here

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I appreciate your visit & comments.

Shellibrate!

Operation Write Home's Midweek Throwdown today was a color challenge using Cantaloupe & Pistachio.  Yum!  We're getting ready for a long beach weekend, so I went with a sea shell theme for my card.

Let Freedom Ring

Doodle Pantry is once again sponsoring Tuesday Morning Sketches fantastic sketch challenge.   For TMS #254, I used the June Release, "Liberty Bell," and will send this to a special friend for the 4th of July.

For my card, I stenciled a starburst (TCW) with Ranger Distress Inks before printing the image.  The background paper is from the same set, along with the sentiment.  The wooden stars were stained with Perfect Pearls in bronze and copper, and attached with Glossy Accents.  When I completed it, I had an "oops" moment.  The sketch includes a cool decorative border of some kind on the front of the card.  I had planned to punch stars and then....oops!  Sorry about that - I think it was a senior moment :-)

I hope you'll play along with Tuesday Morning Sketches and also head over to Doodle Pantry's Blog for our DPDC#47 - "Make it Manly" that runs through June 24th.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

I Woof You

Hope everyone had a fabulous Father's Day!  I was happy to spend the day with my 92 year-old Dad and we had a great time.  The OWH Sketch Challenge #229 posted yesterday had me seeing spots in front of my eyes at first!

Sketch #229

I decided to use those cute digital puppies over at Doodle Pantry called "Puppy Presents" so I could enter the card over at Sentimental Sundays Challenge #211 where the theme is "Animals."  Each puppy is bringing a special present to someone special.  I just need to rescue one more dog and I could have used my own pics!  LOL!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!

You're a Classic

The last Father's Day card is done!  Woohoo!  I went with the new Tuesday Morning Sketch #253 for the layout.

For this quick card, I used Doodle Pantry's "Classic Cars 2" set for the image and DP and the "Man Stuff" set for the sentiment.  My brother actually owned this car ('57 Chevy Belair) and I'll bet he wishes he still had it!  I added some chrome strips and a metal license plate from Basic Grey "Hey Boy" collection to the car for a little bit of manly shine.

Don't forget...Doodle Pantry's Digital Challenge is currently on with the theme "Make it Manly."  DPDC #47 goes through June 24th ~ check out the details HERE

I know it takes time to visit favorite blogs so I'm grateful you took the time to stop by mine.  Have a great day and thanks again for stopping by!

Stay the Course

Sentimental Sundays' Challenge #210 this week is ANY-Thing Goes.  I used the new June release from Doodle Pantry called "Smooth Sailing."  The set includes a great sailboat, DP, and sentiments.  I used some map paper from my stash, created a compass border from the image set, added the 'Stay the Course' sentiment and distressed with Ranger Tea Dye ink.  The wrapped twine is from May Arts and the gold dots were created with a Pearl Pen.

I really like this set and have used it for a couple of Father's Day cards too!  Thanks so much for stopping by and you may want to check out the Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge #47 going on right now (until June 24th).  The theme is "Make it Manly" and you can use any company's image.

Enjoy the week and Happy Sailing!

Have Some Summer Fun!

The June New Releases are here from the Doodle Pantry!  There's new "manly" images as well as ones that make you long for warm summer days.  I used the "Mini Summer Trio" to create my card.

I printed the image and fussy cut a portion of it so I could add sand-colored, textured cardstock underneath the pail and shovel.  The background was brushed with Pebbles Pearlescent Chalks in blue and lavender before layering.  The 3D tiny shells are from Jolee's Boutique.  The sun was die cut using the Die-namics Sunshine die from My Favorite Things.  It was then inked up with Wild Honey Distress Ink.  The finishing touch was adding diamond Stickles to the "sand" so it would glitter in the sun.  The colors are so vivid in this set and it makes such a happy card!

Click here to check out all the fab new releases.  The NEW JUNE 2014 releases are 25% OFF ONLY from June 1st thru 4th - no coupon needed.

The FREE with purchase digi for June 1-24 is Classic Bug & Gas Can.  Slug Bug!

The Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge starts at noon today (EST).  The theme is "Make it Manly" - any digi is ok.  Three winners will be randomly selected and each will receive a $15 gift certificate for the Doodle Pantry store.

Whew!  I hope you'll check out all the fun!  Thank you so much for stopping by :-)

Words 2 Scrap By: June Challenge

"Oh, The Places You'll Go!"  That's the fun theme for this month's challenge at Words 2 Scrap By.  There's so many directions you can go with this!  For my card, I went with a graduation card for a good friend's daughter.  Her school colors are red and gold.

She's considering moving to California after the big day so I chose one of my favorite quotes from Dr. Seuss's timeless book for the inside sentiment:

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

Supplies:  Pop Tones Cherry Cardstock, Studio Basics "Magic" 6x6 Paper Pad, The Paper Studio Lines Embossing Folder, Stampendous Stamps,  Lawn Fawn Stitched Banner Die, and Recollections Gold Eyelets, Gold Rhinestones and Gold Ribbon.  Stickers from stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you have fun with this challenge...where will you go??
