The Paper Players #461: Tic-Tac-Toe from Jaydee

Yippee! The next card I worked on was for Halloween which happens to be my 2nd favorite type of card to make after Christmas! I was thrilled to see The Paper Players latest challenge from Jaydee was Tic-Tac-Toe:

And looky there...middle row across...Orange, Die-cut, and Halloween!

I got pretty inky with this one and did a lot of masking. The background was blended with Distress Oxide Inks. Then I splattered Copic Opaque White and stenciled some stars with Memory Box Starry Nights Stencil.  I used Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs, Crazy Things, and Pumpkinhead stamps and dies, coloring the images with my Zigs.  I just love that puppy...she looks just like my Sydney the Mini Schnauzer!

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great week.  I can't believe it's going to be October but that means it's time to pull out the witches and goblins and decorate!

Happy Fall Y'all,
Annie

The Paper Players #355: Tic-Tac-Toe from Laurie & Joanne

It's a new week and time for another challenge over at The Paper Players.  This time, Laurie has come up with a fun Tic-Tac-Toe challenge and Joanne is hosting.  Just pick a row, across, down, or diagonally and build your project for any occasion:

For my card today, I went down with the center row using a banner, heart-shaped enamel dots, and an animal:

On a rainy day, I had colored up a bunch of Tim Holtz' Crazy Dogs to look like my fur kids :) Meet Gilda Girl, the 15-1/2 year old Mini Schnauzer.  She's a sweet old girl and although diabetic, blind, and almost deaf (selectively), she does just fine getting where she needs to go!

The backgrounds were put together with MFT background stamps (Paw Prints & Small Brick Wall) on SSS's Fog cardstock using SSS's Fog ink for a tone-on-tone look. The banner's sentiment from SSS's You are Pawesome stamp set was heat embossed with Ranger's white fine detail embossing powder.  The enamel hearts and Glossy Accents to shine up the eyes and her wet nose were the finishing touches.

We're anxious to see your Tic-Tac-Toe projects in the gallery this week.  Please check out the other design team members for some fun inspiration:

The Paper Players Design Team

And just a few rules:
  1. Create a new paper project.
  2. Upload your project to your blog with a link back to The Paper Players.
  3. Provide a direct link to your blog post for your challenge entry.
  4. Please link your card to no more than FOUR challenges (including ours).
  5. HAVE FUN!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by.  I hope you have a "pawesome" week!

Ladybug Hugs & Favorite Human

Happy Friday!  I had a few hours in The Doghouse this morning and was able to play along with a couple of challenges.

My first card is for CASology's challenge:

If I had a favorite insect, it would have to be ladybugs.  Maybe becauseWe my favorite color is red?

The ladybug is an older die from The Stamps of Life.  After cutting the wings out of red cardstock, I used a flower center from another stamp set for the black dots and then covered them with Glossy Accents.  The sentiment is also from The Stamps of Life "ladybugs2love."  The background (Wonky Backgrounds by Julie - Ellen Hutson) was stamped in SSS Fog ink.

The second card I was able to play with today for Freshly Made Sketches is a Father's Day card for a very dear Doggy Daddy.

On a MFT Kraft card base, I layered DSP from Queen & Co.  The stitched heart (Memory Box) gave the very simple Copic colored puppy (MFT's Four-Legged Friends) the perfect place to rest.  The sentiment is from the same MFT stamp set which I love!  To finish up, a little Glossy Accents for a wet nose and a microliner pen for freckles.

Thanks for visiting today!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend 😎

Party Animal

Hello!  I needed a birthday card for my niece's new hubby.  I used the latest sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

And I had to use a Crazy Dog that so closely resembles my rescue Labradoodle, Levi.  He's wild & crazy and definitely has more "doodle" than lab.  Long story short...When my niece brought her husband to my house for Christmas, Levi was in "love."  He followed him everywhere, sat and stared longingly at him, and even slept outside the guest room hoping for some attention.  It was CRAZY!

Instead of adding DP down the center, I stenciled confetti and brushed the masked area with Perfect Pearls afterwards.  The Avery Elle sentiment was heat embossed with silver opal EP.  "Levi" and his birthday dog dish were watercolored with Zigs on Canson Bristol and popped up.  Lots of Glossy Accents on his nose and eyeballs and the card is off to the Post Office (after Levi signs the inside, of course).

Thanks so much for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a good week!

W2CB #34: Happiness is a Warm Puppy

Welcome back, Words 2 Craft By friends, for another quote-inspired challenge!  This month we are celebrating Adopt a Shelter Dog Month with the following quote:

Happiness is a Warm Puppy.
- Charles M. Schulz

As with my fellow I-Teamers, puppies are near and dear to my heart and I've been blessed with wonderful fur-ever friends through adoption rescues.  We'd like you to create a project featuring a puppy and link up for a chance to win the Stampers Anonymous Crazy Dog stamp set by Tim Holtz!  Who wouldn't wag their tail over that?!!

Source: Stampers Anonymous

Also, please welcome Marty to the I-Team beginning with this challenge.  Her projects are amazing and will make you bark with joy ~ please leave some love on her blog to welcome her to the pack :-)

Here's the stuff I used on my card for a little inspiration:
Cardstock - Neenah Solar White
DSP - Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid (Fall)
Stamps - Crazy Dogs (Tim Holtz) for accessories, Doodle Pantry's digi: Doggies N Things
Dies - MFT (hearts), TSOL (stitched rectangles)
Other - Copics (for accents), Glossy Accents, Wink of Stella, and bakers twine.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have fun with this and we can't wait to see what pawsome projects you come up with!  The challenge will close on Wednesday, November 2nd, so you have plenty of time to play along.

Lovesick Cody

My Yellow Lab, Cody, is in love with Mandy.  She's a beautiful Rottweiler mix that lives around the corner and frequently escapes to rendezvous with him.  Other dog owners will probably understand that my puppies send Valentines cards to their buddies (they do get a little help from their Mom :)

The Paper Players Challenge this week is all about dogs and cats:

Cody begged me to link up his Valentines card to Mandy before it went in the mail, so here it is!

It's a self-portrait of sorts, but I'm not sure why he crossed his eyes?  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Here's a list of the stuff Cody used on this card:

Cardstock:  MFT Kraft, Pop Tones Blue Raspberry
DSP:  DCWV
Stamps:  Lawn Fawn
Ink:  VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black
Dies:  Sizzix (Puppy), Stamps of Life (Word Bubble), Lawn Fawn (Dog Dish), Memory Box (Heart Tag)
Other:  White gel pen, Copics, Glossy Accents

Happy Valentines' Day!

For a Rescue Dad

Hi All!  Today's card is a two-fer for Shopping Our Stash Cute Critter Alert Challenge (SOS #205) and The Paper Players Masculine Card Challenge (PP248).

I have a dear friend who is the rescue dad of a beautiful Jack Russell Terrier named Nike and every good Dad needs a card on their day :-)  So, Nike asked me to put one together and this is the result.  I know it's a wiener dog but I went with it and will beg forgiveness later.

Stuff I used:  Kraft and Ivory Cardstock, DP from scrap bin, MFT dies and stamp set,
VersaFine Vintage Sepia Ink,  TPS belt buckle, and Recollections ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  And if you're wondering what else to do with those masculine cards, head over to W2SB's June Challenge, "It's a Man's World," and link up.  I hear there's a SSS gift card up for grabs!

Have a great weekend!

Dog Slobber...

...is something I know a little bit about!  I'm getting ready to walk in a fundraiser for "senior citizen" dogs this weekend, so a puppy card seemed to be a great way to start the weekend.

This card's image is from Doodle Pantry's "Puppy Presents" set.  It's one of my faves and always makes me smile.  There are a bunch of cute dogs, each carrying different "presents"!

I'd like to enter this card in a couple of new challenges (for me):  Tuesday Throwdown 209:  Our Furry Little Friends and The Crazy Challenge 178: Cute Little Animals

Thanks so much for stopping by ~ I hope you have a fantastic weekend!  If you're looking for another challenge, check out Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge 49, open until August 24th.  Woof!
