Thanks a Melon!

It's definitely a summer day here!  I put together this card this morning when it was much cooler in my craft room for a few challenges:

Live Love Cards:  Masking Challenge
July ODBD Challenge for OWH:  Thank You
The Stamps of Life:  July Gallery Entry

I used the July stamp of the month set from The Stamps of Life, masking the center watermelon slice to add a juicy slice on each side.  The slices are colored with Copics and the seeds are very shiny covered with Glossy Accents.  Very simple CAS card today before it heats up!

The stamp set came with this cute border stamp which I added to the inside of the card, also colored with Copics:

Can you tell I finally got a MISTI??  I think I'm in love!  Thanks for stopping by!

Nutty Critter

Hi there!  My card for today is using images from Doodle Pantry's Just Nutty set.

I flipped Tuesday Morning Sketch #305 so the squirrel's fussy cut tail would fit!

The squirrel parts (that sounds terrible) were merged onto the branch for the Shopping our Stash "Out on a Limb" Challenge.  I added another brown tag in the background (MFT die) just because it looked a little lonely...the squirrel that is.  I used Copics to do some touch up coloring and Glossy Accents on the eyes, nose and teeth.  The DSP is from Graphic45.

I'll also link up this card to the ODBD Challenge for Operation Write Home for Miss You cards.

Thanks for stopping by!  Remember, the Doodle Pantry AIMPDC #6 - Anything Digital Goes and Words 2 Scrap By's June Challenge - Masculine Cards are still open!

ODBD AnyHero Challenge

I realized today that I had not linked up a card for January's Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge which benefits Operation Write Home.  ODBD funds the shipping for up to two boxes of cards to our heroes.  We need 50 linked up cards to benefit from ODBD's generosity to pay for two boxes of cards.  Last check we were at 31...just a few more needed...and here's mine!

If you haven't played yet, I hope you will - it's a good thing! Thanks for stopping by!

I Miss Choo

I was finally able to take a break from the holiday craziness and spend time in my Girl Cave.  I think I get cranky if I can't play with paper!  The card I'm sharing today is following the latest Operation Write Home Sketch #244.  First of all, thank you to Marlene for all her past wonderful wit and work in coordinating the OWH sketch challenges and welcome, Sybrina, as the new coordinator!  I can't think of a better choice and look forward to your blogs!

Sketch #244

Since Doodle Pantry is sponsoring this sketch challenge (thanks, Laurie!), I went with making a child card for OWH, using Doodle Pantry's "Choo Choo" image (a freebie, BTW:).  I did computer generate my own sentiment.  I'm also going to link this card up for the December Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge - Primary Colors.  ODBD donates shipping costs for up to 2 OWH boxes based on the number of entries - so generous!

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by!  If you're able to find some crafting time, please check out the current fun challenges at Words 2 Scrap By - Eat, Drink, & Be Merry, Cards in Envy - Christmas Carols, and Doodle Pantry - Anything Digi Goes!  Happy Holidays!

God Bless America

For Operation Write Home Sketch Challenge #236 and Our Daily Bread Designs August Challenge "Stars."

I made a very simple AnyHero card on Kraft cardstock using Doodle Pantry's "Patchwork Star" which I absolutely love for it's country, homey feel and great sentiment.  The DP is from Doodle Pantry's "Stars and Stripes" digi paper pack.  I added a bronze star brad (Paper Studio) and some Red/White/Blue twine to finish the card off.   Easy peasy!

No Words Necessary

Today is Sketch Challenge day over at Operation Write Home!  I always look forward to seeing what the new sketch will be.  Sketch #228 looks like this:

For my card today, I also wanted to use die cuts and/or punches so I could enter the June Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge to benefit Operation Write Home.  ODBD sponsors the shipping cost of up to two boxes of cards to our heroes if we reach 50 entries.  There's also a chance to win gift certificates for ODBD stamps!

Here's my card:

Supplies:  Hero Arts Black Cardstock, Memory Box Pink Cardstock,
The Paper Studio DP, Savvy Heart Banner Die,
Sizzix You & Me Die, Sizzix Embossing Folder.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!  AND...if you haven't entered the Words 2 Scrap By Challenge for June, you should check it out.  The inspiration is Dr. Seuss' book, "Oh, the Places You'll Go!"  They select such fun themes for their challenges and this one is no exception!

ODBD May Challenge: Embossing

The May ODBD Challenge is to use embossing on your card.  Our Daily Bread Designs will sponsor the shipping of up to two boxes for Operation Write Home if 50 entries are linked up.  Today the goal is to try and hit 50 entries in one day.  I'm up for that plus it helped that it is raining (make that pouring) here and my gardening is on hold :-)

For this card, I used two different embossing folders - clocks (The Paper Studio) & circles (Sizzix).  I also heat embossed the sentiment with clear embossing powder.  Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

OWH Sketch #214

This week's OWH Sketch Challenge is another one that can help take care of the scrap pile...love that!  I put together a Thank You card so I could also post it for the Our Daily Bread Designs March Challenge.  I did tweak the actual sketch a bit but only because I was feeling a little math challenged today :-)  Thank you for stopping by and have a great week!
