Doodle Pantry Little Girl Valentines

Well, tag me c-r-a-z-y!  I'm crazy about the adorable images released by Doodle Pantry today in the Little Girl Valentines set!  BTW...it is FREE w/purchase today only {big smile}.   I'm lucky enough to be the "adopted" Grandma for some little girl neighbors and I thought this new set would make some adorable Valentines tags for them.

The tags all include the DP, sentiments, and images from this cute set.  A little embellishing with die cuts, ribbon, glossy accents, buttons, googly eyes and Wink of Stella and, ta-da!  So easy :-)

I hope you'll check out this set and the Little Boy Valentines...perfect for Love Day!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic week!

Doodle Pantry *FLASHBACK* - Sheep Squeeze

Hi All!  With Doodle Pantry's new release format announced this month, the last Tuesday of this month is called "FLASHBACK FOCUS" where Laurie will feature previously released products that have been updated and are discounted for the week.  This week there are two flashbacks and my sample card is using Sheep Squeeze - perfect for a sweet valentine or just a love card with those cute sheep hugging it out!

I used the pre-colored hugging sheep image from the set, merged the sentiment onto the Missing You Heart Stamp, and layered it all on Hearts A Flutter digi paper.  I love the sentiments in this set!

Please check out the Flashback products HERE.  Thanks for stopping by...hugs, Annie!

The Paper Players Sketch Challenge #229

The card I'm sharing today is for The Paper Players Sketch Challenge #229:

Since I'm in a pink & gray Valentines Day mode, I went with that theme:

I embossed the background layer with a Darice embossing folder.  The DP is from a great 6x6 pad by Doodlebug Design called "Love Bugs."  I added a ribbon scrap from the jar and stamped the banner sentiment from My Favorite Things in Ranger Archival Ink (Watering Can).  The adorable elephant image is from the Doodle Pantry set "With Heart" that I fussy cut, popped up, and applied Glossy Accents to the heart.  The inside of the card reads, "Love You a Ton!"

Thanks so much for stopping by ~ hope your week is off to a great start!

OWH Sketch Challenge #247

Hello and thanks for stopping by!  I have another Operation Write Home post today...this one uses Sketch Challenge #247 and will also be linked up to the OWH Mid-Month Throwdown which was to create a Thank You card.  Thank You cards are always needed for our heroes to send home or this could be used for an AnyHero card!

Here's the sketch:

And my card:

DP:  Doodlebug Designs "Patriotic Parade"
Stamp(s):  Hero Arts (star background) & Inkadinkado (sentiment)

ODBD AnyHero Challenge

I realized today that I had not linked up a card for January's Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge which benefits Operation Write Home.  ODBD funds the shipping for up to two boxes of cards to our heroes.  We need 50 linked up cards to benefit from ODBD's generosity to pay for two boxes of cards.  Last check we were at 31...just a few more needed...and here's mine!

If you haven't played yet, I hope you will - it's a good thing! Thanks for stopping by!

The Paper Players Challenge #228

Good Morning!  I'm sharing a card I made for The Paper Players Challenge #228:

Sounds easy but I never find CAS easy :-)  I hope this fits the bill:

The main sentiment is a stamp I've had for a while from Hero Arts that I heat embossed and fussy cut.  The "breaking news" stamp and die cut are from The Stamps of Life (TSOL) set, "tv2stamp."  I also randomly colored some of the arrows on the DP (TSOL) with a Copic marker (Y15).  This card will find its way into my Operation Write Home box :-)

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit!  Have a great week!

Cards in Envy: Going Gray

The latest theme for the Cards in Envy Challenge is Going Gray.  Create an A2 card (no lumps or bumps) that uses primarily the color gray.  Usually going gray is not a fun thing to do (I'm talking about my hair here) but in this case, I enjoyed creating this card :-)

The base card is Dove Gray (Memory Box) and the embossed layer is Steel Gray (MFT).  I die cut the fox from the same Dove Gray (Inspire by Spellbinders) and layered it onto a white background, masked the die cut, and stamped the stars with gray ink (Hero Arts).  The word bubble sentiment is from an OWH set (Hero Arts), stamped in white and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  The gray & white ribbon is from my stash (JoAnn's I think) and the silver matte finish star brads from Michaels.  I snipped off the metal brads and used Glossy Accents to attach the stars so they laid a bit flatter.

I hope you'll join us over at Cards in Envy and get your GRAY on!  Thanks for visiting!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #283

I'm really trying to get back into the swing of challenges after the holidays!  Maybe it's taken a while because I had a major clean-up to do after the Christmas frenzy!  Anyway, Tuesday Morning Sketches #283 is an old favorite:

This Valentine's card uses a wagon full of hearts from Doodle Pantry's Wagon Hellos, sentiments were merged from Heart Candy Ants, and the DP is digi paper from Classy Style Dots (free download).  The banners were cut by hand and stamped with white ink.  The shiny epoxy dots are from KaiserCraft.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  You may want to check out the new "Ants in my Pantry" digital challenge on the Doodle Pantry Blog too!  Have a groovy weekend :-)

Shopping Our Stash #184: Hide & Seek

It's been a while since I've been able to play at SOS and I've missed the fun themes.  The challenge one over at Shopping Our Stash this week is Hide & Seek.  The card should have some kind of hidden element.  I was working on my Valentines cards and needed a "guy" card for a friend.

The hidden element behind the sentiment (Avery Elle) is a brushstroke heart (Impress) that I stamped twice in VersaFine ink.  The DP was stamped in Kraft ink with the Wood Plank background stamp (MFT).  I splattered some brown acrylic paint and tacked down the sentiment with gold staples.  I hope my heart is "hidden" enough :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  If you have  a chance, check out the challenges at Cards in Envy, Words 2 Scrap By, and Doodle Pantry.  There's still time to play!

You Make My Heart Sing

The Mixed Media Card Challenge #7 is to use something "new" in your project...a new technique, product, sentiment, etc.  There's a "tissue" option but I did not add that this time.

So...what's new?  Well, I used the new sketch from Operation Write Home, #246.  I kept the layout fairly true to the sketch without the additional layer.

The background was created with new Gelatos and I tried the baby wipe technique (new to me) to spread the color.  The great thing about this was that the watercolor paper did not get very wet at all and it dried quickly.  The sentiment was stamped in black Stazon ink and heat embossed.  The additional doodles and colored red hearts were added with PITT artist pens. The two enamel hearts (Pebbles) finished off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  There's still time to play along in a couple of other fun challenges for January...maybe you can check them out :-)

Ants In My Pantry? Yes!!

Hello!  Today is the debut of the new challenge over at the Doodle Pantry Blog called Ants In My Pantry Digital Challenge (AIMPDC).   The theme is "Milk Day."  Use or feature something associated with milk (cows, milk jugs or boxes, cheese, yogurt, ice cream, etc....) AND use buttons.

I used the milk bottle image and sentiment from the "Milk &Cookies" set and merged some of the rascally ants from the "Ants Accents" set.  You just never know where those ants are going to show up!

Join in the fun and play along with us at AIMPDC #1!  Thanks for stopping by today :-)

Doodle Pantry New Release!

Welcome and Happy New Year!  Doodle Pantry is changing things up a bit in 2015 and scheduling new releases on EVERY TUESDAY throughout a month.  This is the first Tuesday release for January and I'm sure it will make you smile :-)  And to keep you smiling, Laurie is offering 25% off all new products released today (for today only).  You can see all the new releases HERE

I used the DP, sentiment, and an image from the new release called Lady Bug Hugs.  Aren't they the cutest darn bugs you've ever seen??  Perfect for Valentines Day!

Another exciting change for 2015 is a new challenge!  As you've probably heard, DPDC has gone away.  BUT...it's being replaced with a new challenge called Ants In My Pantry Digital Challenge (AIMPDC).  The challenge will begin on the first Tuesday of the month and you'll have 2-1/2 weeks to link up.  The challenges will have themes and two lucky winners chosen by random.  You won't want to miss the very first one which debuts today at 12:00 noon (EST) on the Doodle Pantry Blog.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll check out the new releases and join in the fun!

Cards in Envy: Make it a BANNER year!

It's time for another new challenge beginning January 5th over at Cards in Envy and, I don't know about you, but I'm soooo glad to be able to hang out in the Girl Cave after the holidays!  This challenge is to inspire you to make a flat, A2 card that features having a banner on your card.

I'm really looking forward to a new year so I went with a Happy New Year card.  The card base is kraft cardstock (The Paper Studio) and the banners are actually kraft straw toppers that were in a sale bin.  I die cut the banners with the "Typewriter Numbers" die set from Memory Box and die cut them again on gold paper so I could inlay the numbers.  The banners are on gold/ivory twine and topped off with a gold sequin star.

The inside:

I randomly punched holes on the inside and lined it with the same gold foil paper on the front.  The sentiment (Stampabilities) is stamped in Delicata Golden Glitz pigment ink.

I hope you'll join in the challenge at Cards in Envy and I wish you a very Happy New Year!!!

SOS #182: Thrice as Nice

Did someone say scraps?!  My desk is covered with them and this is a great challenge to eliminate a few of them :-)

My card for the SOS #182: Thrice as Nice Challenge uses three patterned papers plus an ombre background originally from the My Mind's Eye "Flair" 6x6 pad.  They were scraps left over from a recent birthday card plus black cardstock scraps for the background layer.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy New Year!

W2SB Challenge #13: #youchoosetheword(s)

Happy New Year!!!  W2SB has been live for one year and it has been a blast to be part of the I-Team.  I'm looking forward to 2015 and more creative challenges from W2SB this year!  I hope you are too!

January is being kicked off with a unique challenge:  #youchoosetheword(s).  Start with a hashtag and use any words your heart desires!

For my card, I went with #auldlangsyne.  We all know the song and sometimes it's a little confusing...like the scene from When Harry Met Sally.  Harry wonders, What does this song mean? My whole life, I don’t know what this song means. I mean, ‘Should old acquaintance be forgot?’ Does that mean that we should forget old acquaintances. Or does it mean that if we happened to forget them, we should remember them, which is not possible because we already forgot them?”

The title of the 1700's Scottish tune by Robert Burns translates to “times gone by” and is about remembering friends from the past and not letting them be forgotten.  I'm going with that :-) and will drink a cup (or glass) of kindness for auld lang syne, my dear,

This image is a great one from Tiddly Inks called "Lily Bean - Happy New Year."  I digitally colored the image and touched it up with Copics.  Of course, what is champagne without bubbles, so gold sequins and clear rhinestones were added to the bubbly.

I hope you'll join in the challenge at W2SB and tell your friends!  Word has it there are going to be some terrific prizes this year {wink, wink}.  Happy New Year!!
