OWH Midweek Throwdown - Soldier

Well, I don't have a soldier image (need to fix that) but I wanted to play and make an AnyHero card, so I stretched the rules here!  Whenever I see camo, I think soldier.  I had camo paper and I had the terrific hero die from Die-Versions so I'm throwing caution to the wind and linking up.  Thanks for visiting and hopefully I'll be forgiven for straying a bit :-)

Supplies
Cardstock: Simply Smooth Ivory
DP:  Glimpses "Pages of Honor" 6x6 Paper Pad
Die:  Die-Versions "Hero" Sweet Phrases (OWH fundraiser)

Snow Much Fun

Sunday brought a new sketch from Operation Write Home and Sentimental Sundays' Challenge is "Christmas in July".   My favorite cards to make!

Sketch #235

For my Christmas card, I used a free download from Doodle Pantry called "Snowman Cheer."  You can grab one for yourself by clicking HERE:-)  I just love his gingham vest!!  It's close to 90 degrees here today so this card helped chill me out!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

God Bless America!

The OWH Midweek Throwdown is a color challenge - red, white & blue - keeping with the patriotic theme for July.  The sample card is by Sybrina.  She is a champion of the AnyHero cards and co-host of the Words 2 Scrap By blog.  The next challenge is August 1st - don't miss it!

Eat Five a Day!

The current Shopping Our Stash challenge theme, SOS#161, is to Eat Five a Day!  The card should feature fruits or vegetables.  Great timing for me!  A neighbor brought over a bunch of fresh lettuce from their fabulous garden and I've been eating salads for 4 days {happily}.  I made a thank you card for their thoughtfulness using an old Recollections paper pad from my stash called "Garden Harvest" that had these great glittery seed packets.  Thanks for visiting today!

My World is Brighter

The new Shopping Our Stash Challenge (SOS #160) is to use something that you can't seem to put down, or put away.   That's a hard one for me to choose because I tend to only put things away once a week...maybe!  But, that being said, my Big Shot never leaves my sight, I always have embossing folders on my desk, and I love me some Glossy Accents!

For this card, I used the latest sketch from Deconstructing Jen - Deconstructed Sketch #160 and My Favorite Things which happens to be My Favorite Stuff!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

I used the red poppies and sentiment from the "Poppies" set by Doodle Pantry and added a little bit of Copic coloring.  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out Doodle Pantry's Digital Challenge going on right now through July 24th.  There will be 3 winners this month!

Hats Off To You!

The OWH Midweek Throwdown is to create an AnyHero Card with Stars.  For my card, I used one of the July new releases from Doodle Pantry called "Topped with Class."  It's a fun set with lots of different hats.  I did merge the flag from the "Let Freedom Ring" (also from Doodle Pantry) to the ball cap.  I embossed the background and die cut stars.  Easy peasey!

Supplies:  Bazzill Cardstock, Doodle Pantry "Topped with Class" & "Let Freedom Ring" Digital Images & Sentiment, Cuttlebug "Stars" Embossing Folder, and Momenta Star Dies.

Thanks for visiting today!  There's still time to play in a couple of other great challenges.  Click below to get the scoop...you'll be glad you did!

OWH Scarf Challenge

On Monday I spent a few hours playing with watercolors, distress inks, stencils, embossing, etc. to create backgrounds.  This morning I saw the Scarf Challenge that Sandy posted on the OWH Blog on Monday.  I was looking at my stash of backgrounds I played with and ta da!  I think this one matched up to the scarf pretty well...the design on the bottom could be the fringe?  Anyway, I kept the card very simple.  I imagine it made Sandy's day to receive that beautiful scarf, so I thought this sentiment was perfect.  Thanks for stopping by!

Unbearable

I'm an hour away from the closing of the challenge but at least I didn't miss it altogether (been there, done that!).  The Shopping Our Stash Challenge #159 is called Wooden Ships and you can use wood on your card or ships.  I chose wood because I'd been wanting to use the Happy Trails Camper from Doodle Pantry for a while.  This set also happens to be FREE with any purchase from Doodle Pantry through July 24th.  It is sooo cute and the only thing missing is the mosquitoes!

My card uses one of the scenes, the DP, and the sentiment.  I used MFT's woodgrain stamp for the background, little trees from the Savvy Dies' "Woodland Meadow Set", and three wooden hearts from my stash that are distressed with Ranger Distress Ink in Walnut Stain.  Whew...I think I made the cutoff :-)  Hope you're having a great week!

Floating By to Say Hi

It's time for Sketch #233 over at Operation Write Home and {yippee} Marlene featured one of my cards!  Thanks so much for selecting my card, Marlene!  I'm so humbled to be chosen considering all the super talented OWHer's out there!

It's going to be 90+ today and my little craft room gets pretty warm.  So, I did a couple of cards early this morning that I'd like to share.  For the first one, I was inspired by the little black ants crawling on my patio yesterday.  I wished they would float away (but I sprayed them instead) :-).  On the second card, I went with Christmas in the hopes of cooling off.  I did change up the second one a bit by omitting the sentiment and bumping up the size of a layer a bit.  I also fussy cut the ornament ribbon to give a little more dimension.

Card #1: Floating By to Say Hi

Supplies:  The Paper Studio Cardstock, Doodle Pantry "Balloon Ants" Image & Sentiment, Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" Embossing Folder, Black Upholstery Thread, and Craftworkcards Candi Minis.

Card #2:  Vintage Ornament

Supplies:  Curious Lightspecks Gold Cardstock, Recollections Specialty Gold Cardstock, Doodle Pantry "Vintage Ornament" Image & DP, Black Silk Cording, Heidi Grace Gold Metal Accents.

Thanks so much for stopping by and stay cool!  Don't forget there's two other fun challenges going on right now:  Words 2 Scrap By - Oh La La and Doodle Pantry's Make a Splash or Make it Christmas.  I hope you'll check them out and play along!

Red, White & Blue Thank You!

I just returned from vacation and had a terrific time camping.  I do think the 'skeeters had a better time than I did based on the number of bites I have!  Today I'm playing a little catch-up with some challenges ~ vacations are fun but I do miss my ATG when I'm away!

My card is an AnyHero card for Operation Write Home.  The Midweek Throwdown over at the OWH blog was to create a red, white & blue AnyHero card with a flag. I'm hoping this will make some hero's day to know they are so appreciated.  I also want to enter this card in the Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge #256 and the Shopping Our Stash Challenge #158 using red, white, and blue.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you had a safe 4th of July with family & friends!  AND, if you have time, please check out the challenges at the Words 2 Scrap By and Doodle Pantry blogs!  Always a good time :-)

Christmas in July

Hi everyone!  It's finally heating up around here and I made Christmas cards for the July challenge over at the Doodle Pantry Blog!  LOL!  There are two themes for the challenge in July - Make a Splash and Christmas.  Christmas cards are my number one favorite type of card to make so this was extra fun.  On the first card, I used the Winter Song Birdies set for the image and sentiment.  The card is die cut with Little B Scallop Circle dies.

For the second card, I used the "Classy Monogram" outlines.  These are fantastic ~ you can fill the letters with whatever color you want or need!

Thanks for stopping by and Merry Christmas in July!!

Ooo La La!

It's the first of July and time for another fun challenge over at Words 2 Scrap By!  The theme words this month are "Ooo La La" in honor of Bastille Day.  For my card, I used the "Mimi in Paris" stamp set from Penny Black and colored with Copics.  The DP is from DCWV (Hippie Chic) and the dies are from Mama Elephant and Spellbinders.  I hope you'll join in and play along...can't wait to see what everyone creates!  Ooo La La!
