A quick post today for Sketch Challenge 245 at Operation Write Home:
I flipped a portion of the sketch today and dry embossed the card base with hearts (Cuttlebug "Cross My Heart") rather than add another layer. The sentiment, heart & key stamps and dies plus the DP are from The Stamps of Life. The sentiment is heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. The key is tied on with a little snippet of twine from The Twinery.
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope your holidays were happy!

Gumdrops!
I'm really happy I was able to find some crafting time to link up for Tuesday Morning Sketches #280!
This is the last Christmas card I made yesterday! The Doodle Pantry image is a combination of gumdrops from "Sweet Stuff" (which is free w/purchase :-) and the jar and lid from "Jargon Bundle."
The sentiment is from the recent December release, "Gingerbread House Ants."

I filled the empty jar with red and green gumdrops, added the lid and sentiment, and printed it twice. I fussy cut the second image and popped it on top of the first one with some silicon glue. The DP is from a Doodlebug Designs 6x6 pad - Home for the Holidays. I stamped the banners in Colorbox Strawberry and Avocado and finished it off with a punched button and red/white twine.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you are having a happy holiday time!
Penquin Love
Good morning! Today I'm sharing a card for the Shopping Our Stash Challenge: SOS #181 - Red Alert! The Christmas cards and tags are all done, so I'm moving onto Valentines/Love cards for Operation Write Home. And...red is my favorite color!
This card uses one of the Loving Critters images from Doodle Pantry. He's just adorable! I filled 3 of the heart banners with red and added "I" and "U" to the other two. Adding Glossy Accents to the banner helps it pop off the page.
Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Holidays! For additional fun this month, check out these additional challenges:

I Miss Choo
I was finally able to take a break from the holiday craziness and spend time in my Girl Cave. I think I get cranky if I can't play with paper! The card I'm sharing today is following the latest Operation Write Home Sketch #244. First of all, thank you to Marlene for all her past wonderful wit and work in coordinating the OWH sketch challenges and welcome, Sybrina, as the new coordinator! I can't think of a better choice and look forward to your blogs!
Sketch #244
Since Doodle Pantry is sponsoring this sketch challenge (thanks, Laurie!), I went with making a child card for OWH, using Doodle Pantry's "Choo Choo" image (a freebie, BTW:). I did computer generate my own sentiment. I'm also going to link this card up for the December Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge - Primary Colors. ODBD donates shipping costs for up to 2 OWH boxes based on the number of entries - so generous!
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by! If you're able to find some crafting time, please check out the current fun challenges at Words 2 Scrap By - Eat, Drink, & Be Merry, Cards in Envy - Christmas Carols, and Doodle Pantry - Anything Digi Goes! Happy Holidays!

Frosty the Snowman
The new challenge theme over at Cards in Envy is Christmas Carols, asking you to create an A2 card (no lumps or bumps) that is inspired by a Christmas Carol/Song. For my DT card, I decided on "Frosty the Snowman" which my grandson sings to me daily now when he's not singing Jingle Bell Rock :-)
I used my actual sheet music for the music DP, reducing it on the copier and inking the edges with Memento Grape Jelly Ink. Frosty was stamped and die cut (Stamps of Life "snowman2build"), paper pieced the scarf, mittens and added a hat band. I glued sequin snowflakes with tiny pearl centers to finish off the front. The large inked snowflake is a die from Lawn Fawn and the other DP is from Doodlebug Designs "Frosty Friends." I really like the non-traditional colors of this 6x6 pad!
I hope you'll find some relaxing crafting time during the holidays and join in the fun at the Cards in Envy latest challenge which runs through January 4th. Happiest of Holidays to you and yours!

For Santa!
For my last post of the day, I wanted to share a card I put together for Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge #278:
I rotated the sketch and used the "Milk & Cookies" new release from Doodle Pantry...yum! This digital set also happens to be free with purchase this month. You can check out the details here. I frosted the cookies with Pearl Pen and used Glossy Accents on the milk bottle. Good enough to eat? Thanks so much for stopping by! I just might bake this weekend...

Cozy Christmas
Today I'm sharing a card I made for the Shopping our Stash Challenge #179 - Free is Good! I actually won a grab bag in a drawing from a local LSS at a Holiday Open House. The free goodies included a 6x6 paper pad by Carta Bella called "So this is Christmas."
The die cuts and stamps are from My Favorite Things - not free but l-o-v-e them! And, just for grins, I made another Christmas card for a friend that collects Christmas sweaters with the paper scraps.

Doodle Pantry December Release: Holiday Partridge
Welcome Doodle Pantry Fans (and future Fans :-)! It's December 1st and time for another fantastic new release from the Doodle Pantry. There are so many darling images, it was difficult to choose which ones to play with first! I finally decided on Holiday Partridge for my first card:
I loved the colors and since I'm still chipping away at my Christmas cards, it was the perfect choice:

W2SB Challenge #12: Eat, Drink, and Be Merry!
What an appropriate challenge from Words 2 Scrap By for December...Eat, Drink, and Be Merry! I know I'll be eating, drinking, and being merry all month long :-) I just finished decorating the house which makes me very merry!
So, for my card, I had to have a Santa, Christmas Lights, and a Christmas Tree keeping with the decorating theme. I cut a piece of Bazzill red cardstock 2.5" x 5-1/4" and punched three 1-1/2" holes. I traced the holes on my Neenah Solar White cardstock base so I knew where to stamp my images. All images were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. I scored the red strip on the top and bottom and mounted it over the images. I added a bit of green/white ribbon and stamped the sentiment in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. I love this stamp set called "Tis the Season" designed by Julie Ebersole over at Ellen Hutson and I have used it on several Christmas cards already.
I hope you'll play along at W2SB this month and spread the merry! And, who knows, you may be the lucky recipient of an awesome prize package that includes yummy stamps from My Favorite Things! Thanks so much for stopping by ~ we can't wait to see what you create! Happy Holidays!

Ho Ho Ho!
Cards in Envy's latest challenge is SANTA is Coming to Town! Make an A2 card flat enough for mailing featuring a Santa, Santa Hat or Santa Suit. For my card, I went with the suit :-)
This card was very easy to put together. I used Bazzill red cardstock for the base and Neenah Solar White for the fur trim. I covered the white cardstock strip with Scor-Tape and sprinkled on Flower Soft in Polar White. The belt is a strip of black glitter cardstock (Recollections). I made the gold buckle using two Spellbinders' Scalloped Rectangles nested together. Easy peasy and very flat for the envy!
Please join in the fun over at Cards in Envy and check out the other DT members' cards while you're there. Thanks for visiting today!
