The Paper Players #403: A Sketch Challenge from Claire

Hello Paper Players! It's Sunday and time for another fun challenge with a wonderful sketch from our creative hostess, Claire!

I really like this sketch!  It's versatile and perfect for any occasion, guy or gal! I made the following card for my bestie that recently had knee replacement surgery.  She's recovering wonderfully and can't wait to get back on the golf course!

The gorgeous flamingo is from the latest Stamp of Approval collection, "Tropically Yours," as part of a stamp set & dies called 'Stand Tall.'  I watercolored her with Catherine Pooler's new ink color, Coral Cabana, and a Zig blender pen.  The Canvas Grunge background (also from SOA), was stamped in the same coral ink as was the watercolored striped layer.  I'm just crazy about this new ink color and wanted it to be the star of the show so I added a black/white DSP scrap (Black Tie Gala) and some black/white twine for accent.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set. I used MFT's Tag You're It die to add the final layer and scattered some black gems (my bestie deserves some bling)!

The Paper Players #402: A Clean & Simple Challenge from Nance

Welcome Paper Players!  Today we are kicking off a CLEAN & SIMPLE Challenge hosted by the awesome Nance:

Use negative space on your CAS design and keep your layers and embellishments to a bare minimum for a clean look.

It was very warm when I made this card so I thought about Christmas in July to cool down!  I used Stampin' Up's Shimmery White cardstock for the base and negative layer.  I die cut a stitched rectangle (MFT), then die cut a snowflake (MFT) and the letters 'J' and 'Y' from Little B's Monogram die set.  I layered the negative over a strip of American Craft's blue glitter cardstock and done!

Cards in Envy: On the Beach

One of my favorite themes...I love all things beachy!  Cards in Envy is kicking off their latest challenge with a beach theme for any occasion as long we see a beach image on your card.

I used the Beach stamp from Art Impressions, heat embossed, and watercolored with my Zig Clean Color Markers.  Adding a strip of black cardstock and Catherine Pooler DSP (Black Tie Gala) along with Wink of Stella finished this simple card.  The sentiment surrounding the image is a little difficult to read in a photo, so here it is:

Wiggle your toes in the sands of the Seas
Dream of tomorrow and all that can be.

On a final note, this is my last challenge on the Cards in Envy DT.  I have been honored to have been a member for four years (gosh time flies) along side such talented folks and Sandy Trefger, an awesome, hardworking team lead!  I still plan on playing along whenever I can because I believe this challenge has some of the freshest challenge themes out there!

Thanks for stopping by, take care, and I hope you will find some "beach" time and play along!

Hugs,

Annie

The Paper Players #401: A Color Challenge from Joanne

Well, did y'all have fun celebrating our 400th Challenge?  We were blown away by the amazing entries! Thank you for helping us celebrate and we can't wait to see who all the winners are from our random prize drawings! Winners will be announced on Wednesday the 18th and good luck to all!

Now, on to this week's Paper Players challenge which is a bright color challenge hosted by the amazing Joanne:

Pretty color combo!  I just had to go with a floral theme and use my Hero Arts Color Layering Fuchsia stamp set for this one.  I have a fuchsia hanging basket in my backyard with these exact colors! It started out on the front porch but I found out that the neighborhood deer loved it too, thus it was relocated...what was left anyway!

We hope you'll join in the fun this week and play along!  Check out the other beauties from the DT too:
