There is a big selection of patriotic images for the 4th of July over at Doodle Pantry and today Laurie is featuring a few of them for your viewing pleasure and inspiration!

My card is using the Patchwork Star image that I fussy cut and popped up.  The background paper is from Doodle Pantry's Country Flavors Digi Paper Pack.

Live Love Cards Vellum Challenge

The challenge over at Live Love Cards this month is to use vellum on a project.  I really like the stained glass look so thought I would try a new technique (new to me anyway :).

I stamped heavy weight vellum with VersaMark and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder.  I flipped it over and colored on the back side with SN markers.  Using MFT dies, I die cut a plain circle in the white embossed background layer then die cut the yellow stitched circle to frame the image.  Added a popped up banner and done!

I'm definitely going to try this technique again...it's very forgiving!  Thanks for stopping by!

CSSC #5

I missed out on last month's challenge over at Crooked Stamper so wanted to make sure I made it to this party - CSSC #5.

Now, where do I start?  Well, I flipped it first so my sentiment would fit.  I don't have 3 elements but I do have 3 lines - hope that counts!  If nothing else, it's a little crooked so appropriate for the blog?  Anyway, this is a fun sketch and gave me a chance to use MFT's "Spotlight Sentiments" which I love, MFT's Heart Balloons which I love, and finally, Hero Arts Pink Ombre Ink which I'm not sure about.  I think that ink pad will take some practice!  Finally, this is one layer and I'm super excited about that!

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you're having a great week!

Nutty Critter

Hi there!  My card for today is using images from Doodle Pantry's Just Nutty set.

I flipped Tuesday Morning Sketch #305 so the squirrel's fussy cut tail would fit!

The squirrel parts (that sounds terrible) were merged onto the branch for the Shopping our Stash "Out on a Limb" Challenge.  I added another brown tag in the background (MFT die) just because it looked a little lonely...the squirrel that is.  I used Copics to do some touch up coloring and Glossy Accents on the eyes, nose and teeth.  The DSP is from Graphic45.

I'll also link up this card to the ODBD Challenge for Operation Write Home for Miss You cards.

Thanks for stopping by!  Remember, the Doodle Pantry AIMPDC #6 - Anything Digital Goes and Words 2 Scrap By's June Challenge - Masculine Cards are still open!

For a Rescue Dad

Hi All!  Today's card is a two-fer for Shopping Our Stash Cute Critter Alert Challenge (SOS #205) and The Paper Players Masculine Card Challenge (PP248).

I have a dear friend who is the rescue dad of a beautiful Jack Russell Terrier named Nike and every good Dad needs a card on their day :-)  So, Nike asked me to put one together and this is the result.  I know it's a wiener dog but I went with it and will beg forgiveness later.

Stuff I used:  Kraft and Ivory Cardstock, DP from scrap bin, MFT dies and stamp set,
VersaFine Vintage Sepia Ink,  TPS belt buckle, and Recollections ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  And if you're wondering what else to do with those masculine cards, head over to W2SB's June Challenge, "It's a Man's World," and link up.  I hear there's a SSS gift card up for grabs!

Have a great weekend!

TMS #303: Doodle Pantry's Mark Twain Quips

Happy Friday!  It's a two-fer today...I'm playing along with Tuesday Morning Sketches #303,

AND, using one of the new releases today from Doodle Pantry called Mark Twain Quips.  There's a lot of great quips that can be used on a card!  I went with the "wrinkled" one :-)  Not saying I have any...just liked it!  LOL!

Stuff I used:  MFT Kraft Cardstock, MME Bramble Rose 6x6 paper pad, parchment paper, MFT stitched rectangle die, Stamps of Life tiny flower dies, Memory Box vine and leaves dies, MME enamel dots.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great weekend!

Doodle Pantry New Release Day!

Happy Friday!  Doodle Pantry has some new releases today!  For my DT card, I used the set called "Seahorse Habitat" and it's a fun one.  The colored images are so bright & summery but there are outlines too so you can color your own!

This card was pretty easy to put together!  I merged the seahorse and habitat onto one of the solid digital papers and also used the patterned digital paper in the layout.  Added Copic coloring to the habitat, a lot of Wink of Stella (that I wished photographed better...it's very glittery), Rain Dots for bubbles, and finished it off with a single pearl.

I hope you'll check out all the new releases for June 5th HERE and don't forget the Ants in My Pantry Digital Challenge #6 going on right now on the Doodle Pantry blog.  There's still plenty of time to play!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cards In Envy Challenge: Girls, Girls, Girls

Happy Monday and June 1st!  The new theme over at Cards in Envy is "Girls, Girls, Girls" and, you guessed, it's about girly cards!  Make an A2 (flat enough to mail) feminine card for a girlfriend, Mom, sister...any special woman or girl in your life.

This card is pretty frilly for me but it was sure fun to dress it up!  I used a Memory Box dress die and Martha Stewart lacy heart border punch to create the layers in alternating gold and black cardstock.  The banner was stenciled (Heidi Grace) and spray misted in gold.  I added a little gold ribbon for a belt, some sequins, and she is ready to go!

Please join in the fun and share your "girly" side with us!  Thanks for stopping by!

W2SB #18: It's a Man's World

Welcome back!  It's June 1st and time for another Words 2 Scrap By challenge!  The theme this month is "It's a Man's World" and we're looking for a guy card for any occasion:  Father's Day, birthdays, graduation, bachelor party, etc.

My card is a spin-off of a girly card that I did for my best friend.  You can see that one HERE.  This time I went for a clean guy look for Father's Day.  My Dad is a HUGE baseball fan and this sentiment should really hit home for him (get it?).

Stuff I used:  Neenah Solar White Card Base, Red and Blue Bazzill Cardstock,
Sizzix Adhesive Sheets, Memory Box Star Flourish die (cut into pieces), MFT Stacking Stars Die,
The Stamps of Life sentiment, VersaFine Majestic Blue Ink.

I hope you'll join in the fun at W2SB this month.  You have until June 26th to enter and, of course, there is another fantastic prize waiting for the winner!  We can't wait to see your "manly" projects!
