Too Much Happy?

I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!  I spent some time cleaning up The Dog House and organizing my stash between beach and BBQ time.  My card this morning is for the current sketch challenge over at The The Paper Players:

It's nothing fancy - no trendy products or techniques - just happy stash items for a happy card:

Here's the stuff I used:
Card Base - Bazzill Banana Split
     DSP - My Favorite Things
Sentiment - The Paper Studio ATC (happy find in a drawer that begged to be on a card :)
Other - Recollections Epoxy Smiley Faces, Wink of Stella

I'd also like to send hugs to my former I-Teamers and link this up to my alma mater, Words 2 Craft By, for the happy party theme happening over there right now.

Thanks for visiting ~ have a great week!

French Fries

Hi again...this is the second card I worked on today.  I followed the latest Freshly Made Sketches #289 for a little inspiration.

This one is going to my DGS so I probably should explain it a bit!  I live on the coast, small town, but there IS a McDonalds, of course.  It is the main hangout for a LOT of seagulls.  They hover outside your car, they land on your car, all the while screaming for a french fry.  My grandson thought this was soooo cool!

I'd also been very anxious to play with the new MFT seagull stamp set.  So stinkin' cute!  The french fries' sentiment and dies are from The Stamps of Life and I thought they were a perfect focal point for my little seagull.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look.  Have a wonderful and (hopefully) sunny Memorial Day Weekend!

YOU can do it.

Hi there!  I had some time this week to play along with a couple of challenges.  This card is for CASology's latest challenge inspired by the cue "LOUD."

So, I must confess...I love cars and racing.  If you've ever been to a race, it is LOUD!  That's what came to mind when I saw the cue.  I put together my masculine card with winning checkered flags and a little encouragement!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you're having a good week and an even better Memorial Weekend!

Anniversary Butterflies

Happy Monday!  Today's card is an anniversary card for my favorite niece inspired by the new Paper Players Challenge:

I used Canson Bristol for the scalloped layer (Mama Elephant) and the card base.  The sketchy butterflies from Penny Black were watercolored with Derwent Inktense pencils, sparkled up with Spectrum Noir shimmer pen, and highlighted with Glossy Accents.  The "kids" are celebrating their first anniversary this summer and I hope they like it!

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a fantastic week!  ~ Annie

BTW...Cards in Envy Favorite Color Combo Challenge is going on right now and you have an extra week to play along this month.  Come join us and show us your colors!

Lookin' Sharp

A pretty quick card today for the latest CASology Challenge:

It has NOT been very warm around here yet so I had to reach for some "warm" memories.  One of those was a trip to Sedona, Arizona.  It was very warm there but extremely beautiful with the flaming sunset slipping behind the breathtaking red rock.

On a Neenah Solar White card base, I stamped the abstract swipe (MFT) in Memento's Potter's Clay ink.  Masked that off and stamped the "sun" with Altnew's Halftone Circle using Memento's Tangelo and Dandelion inks.  I finished it off with a cactus die cut and sentiment from The Stamps of Life.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I'm hoping the temperature makes it over 60 degrees tomorrow 😎

Just Keep Swimming!

Hi there!  My card today was to play along with The Paper Players latest challenge (PP344):

All of stamps and dies are from Hero Arts, including the gorgeous shimmery paper that was in the recent Hero Arts monthly kit.  The waves stencil is one of my faves from Simon Says Stamp and I used DI Peacock Feathers and my wanna be stencil brush (aka old makeup brush :) to create the background.

Thanks for looking and I hope your week is off to a great start!  We had hail this morning...it is May isn't it?!?

Cards in Envy: Favorite Color Combo

Woo hoo!  Time for another fun Cards in Envy Challenge and this one gives you the opportunity to create whatever themed card your heart desires ~ just use your favorite color combo!

I have a lot of favorite color combos, but for my DT card, I went with one of my very favorite:  Red, Orange & Yellow.

The image and sentiment are from Gina K. Designs.  I colored it with my Zigs and also coated everything with Wink of Stella.  Then I mounted the layer on a Hero Arts Black Notecard and sprinkled on some sparkly enamel dots from MME.

Here's another card for a little inspiration with another fave color combo:  Yellow, Green, & Blue.

This card is going to the DGS, of course!  The Little Monsters stamp & die are from North Coast Creations paired with the popular HUGS die from MFT.  I used Distress Inks on the letters and inlaid them.  I added the "monster" sentiment from MFT's Monster Love stamp set.  The little monster was colored simply with Copics and finished off with Doodlebug Design eyeballs and Nuvo drops on his antennas.

We can't wait to see YOUR colorful entries!  Thanks for looking!

Darn Amazing

Hello!  Back again with a second card today.  This one is for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge:

I was playing around the other day making some backgrounds and swiping the new Catherine Pooler ink colors.  Ah ha...I thought that the rainbow stripes might work well for this layout.  The colors are really vibrant!  The "you" die cut and sentiment are from Avery Elle and a few Pink Posh sequins finished off the card.  No wait!  I had to add Wink of Stella to the word die cut.  Now I'm finished 😎

Thanks so much for looking!

Wedding Congrats

Hi there!  I have a card today for the latest CASology Challenge:

No graduations happening in the family this year but another exciting beginning is, of course, a wedding!

On a Neenah Solar White card base, I stamped a birthday cake (The Stamps of Life), masking off a little area for the happy little wedding couple (Stampendous) as a cake topper.  I added the "congrats" on the cake and decided to not color it in.  I did color the bride's bouquet pink and then sprayed the entire front with Sheer Shimmer.  Gosh, I wish it showed up in the pic...it's really sparkly!  I'm hoping it's not toooo simple :)

Thanks so much for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a great weekend!

Sprinkles, Please!

Happy SUNday!  Only one card today because the sun is out and the beach is calling!  My card today uses the latest sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

And the theme from The Paper Players:

And because I've been craving donuts for some strange reason:

I "frosted" the donut die cut with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in Peony Pink and then added some glittery sprinkles from Recollections.  The hardest part of this card was keeping my fingers out of the mousse before it dried!  The dies & sentiment (Donuts & Sprinkles), background stamp (Pinstripes) and scrap DSP (Hearts & Stripes) are all from My Favorite Things.  The inks are from Catherine Pooler Designs in Mint to Be and Party Dress.

Thanks for looking ~ I hope YOUR day is sprinkled with fun!

Wishing You...

Hi there!  This morning I was able to play along with a couple of challenges:

The Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

I went with the middle row, down, using green, die-cut, and leaves.

First I stamped the leaf panel with Catherine Pooler inks and Altenew's Free Form Greenery stamps.  After adding the Wishing You sentiment from Mama Elephant, I die cut the stamped layer, nesting a smaller rectangle die inside a larger one (MFT Blueprints 31).  The result was a thin, stitched frame and then I was able to pop up the center portion on fun foam.  I added the teeny black sentiment strip and a few Nuvo drops in Apple Green and Sea Breeze to finish it off.

The second challenge I had to play along with is CASology's:

With a cue of "Flow," I should explain a bit what I was thinking.  Not water, electricity, etc., but traffic.  Yep, traffic flow!  I worked in Seattle for many years and, if you didn't know, Seattle has some of the worst traffic in the country.  I spent many hours sitting in traffic which usually didn't "flow" at peak commuting times.  I could have used this sentiment then!

The only traffic flow I have to worry about now is stopping when the beautiful deer are crossing the road.  I don't mind that at all!

For this card, I stamped the image from Altenew (Sketchy Cities America 2)  with Hero Arts Pool to Navy Ombre ink and the sentiment with Gina K.'s In the Navy on a Neenah Solar White 110# card base.  I added a little sequin on the Great Wheel and that was it!

Hope you're having a good week ~ thanks so much for stopping by!

Cards in Envy: Motherly Love

Happy May Day!  I'm actually a little happy that our very rainy April is behind us and I'm looking forward to sunnier days.  I'm also looking forward to seeing your wonderful cards for the latest Cards in Envy Challenge starting today called "Motherly Love."  Create a card, any size but flat enough to fit in an envy, that focuses on Moms.  It doesn't have to be a Mother's Day card.  It could be a birthday, thank you, love you, etc.

I did go with a Mother's Day card for a Super Mom for my DT inspiration:

We hope you'll play along with us and show a Mom some love.  Please stop by the other DT members blogs for more wonderful inspiration and leave them some love too!  Thanks for stopping by ~ have a great week!
