More Happy Love Day

Welcome back!  The second card I made this morning was for the latest Shopping Our Stash challenge.  SOS #235 is called 3-2-1 and they're asking for 3 of something, 2 of something, and 1 of...you get the idea :-)

For my card, I used 3 hearts, 2 banners, and 1 doily:

I started with Mojo Monday's Sketch #431 for a little inspiration:

The card went together pretty quickly after that!  Here's some of the other stuff I used:

Cardstock:  Bazzill Wax Lips
DSP:  The Stamps of Life
Dies:  Savvy
Other:  Jillibean doily, Heidi Grace button, white twine, MME Cupid's Arrow die cuts

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Love Day

It felt good today to get back into the swing of entering some challenges.  My first card and post is for the latest challenge over at The Paper Players:

I received some Dylusions inks at Christmas and thought I would give them a whirl...or squirt as it turns out.  Gosh, are they vivid!

For this card, I played with Bubblegum Pink and London Blue.  The Sizzix/Tim Holtz Scribbles Heart was die cut using silver metallic paper.  This time I remembered to add a Sizzix adhesive sheet to the cardstock before cutting...so much easier than trying to glue this intricate thing!  The sentiment banner is from Savvy that I die cut once in black and once in white so I could inlay the letters.  And yes, even the itty bitty pieces of the A, P, O, and D.  What was I thinking???  The panel was attached to Purple Rain cardstock (MFT) and a few sequins - done!  I really liked how these inks blend!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you're having a great week :-)

Cards in Envy - White on White

Happy Monday and welcome to another fun Cards in Envy Challenge!  This time we are looking for A2 cards that are mostly white and will fit in an envy for mailing.  Any theme is welcome!

For my DT card, I went with a birthday card that I hope looks good enough to drink :-)

This is actually my second attempt.  My first one ended up all brown after I spilled a cup of coffee on it!  Eeeek!  That's the challenge for me with white cards...they usually always end up with "spots" or "boo-boo's!"  The card base measures 3.75" wide and 5.25" tall to allow for the overhang of the whipped cream on the top and the label on the right.  The complete card measures 4.25" x 5.50" so it will fit nicely in an A2 envelope.

Thanks so much for stopping by and we look forward to seeing your White on White projects!  Here's the stuff I used:

Cardstock:  Neenah Solar White, Bazzill Cocoa
Stamp(s):  Great Impressions
Ink(s):  Memento Rich Cocoa, Distress Antique Linen (for shading)
Dies:  My Favorite Things "Hot Cocoa Cups," and Sizzix (label)

I'd also like to play along for the first time with The Card Concept Challenge #46 (A Warm Heart) using a clean & layered style, inspired by the cocoa and marshmallow heart!

And, hopefully I made the deadline for Shopping Our Stash #234 - Something New.  I've missed playing along but my move is complete and all that's left is the unpacking!  My something new is the Hot Cocoa Cups die set from My Favorite Things.

Have an amazing week!

Words 2 Craft By January Challenge

Welcome old friends of W2SB!  It's the second Wednesday of the month and the start of the new W2CB challenge for January.  New year, new name, but the same fun word challenges you've come to love.

This month, we are challenging you to create a project based on the following quote:

The secret to a rich life is to have more beginnings than endings.
~Dave Weinbaum

I liked this Dylusions sentiment from Ranger as soon as I saw it.  I think it challenges someone to seek new beginnings and so, on my card it went.  I followed it up with an embossing folder (Darice) and three butterflies stamped, heat embossed, die cut, and popped up.  I did add some glossy accents and Wink of Stella to the little guys but this photo doesn't do them justice.  And what has more beginnings than a butterfly?  Their 4-stage life cycle (eggs, caterpillar, chrysalis, and, ta da...butterfly) is pretty impressive :-)

Oh, did I mention that along with the name change from W2SB to W2CB, there will be two prizes awarded each month!!  The winning entry will receive our winner's badge AND a guest designer spot.  AND we will also select one lucky person to receive a gift certificate.  Retail therapy...gotta love it!

Please join in the fun this month and share your projects with our "beginnings" theme.  Tell your friends in blogland to come on over too.  The more the merrier!

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy New Beginnings!

Cards in Envy Shiny New Year

Happy New Year, CIE friends!  I hope 2016 is definitely a shiny one for you!  I'm a little late to the New Year's party but I moved over the holidays (not recommended :), and it has taken a bit of time to locate things in the big stack of boxes!  I suppose I'll be "discovering" things for a while!  It also took a few days to actually get connected again...crossing my fingers that it works this time!

Anyhoo, the real reason you're here is to celebrate CIE's challenge to kick off the new year by creating a sparkly and/or shiny A2 card flat enough to fit in an envy.  You can use any theme of your choice as long as your sparkly self shines through!

We hope you'll play along and I wish you and yours a healthy and happy 2016!  Now, back to those boxes...where are those darn socks??
