Hi friends!  I have a card today for a couple of challenges:

Freshly Made Sketches #343

The Card Concept #96 (Inspired by colors, table sign, and gold elements)

I thought the FMS sketch was perfect for a clean and layered look for this card.  I painted a watercolor wash with SU Calypso Coral and gold heat embossed the big sentiment from Mama Elephant. I layered the watercolor piece onto Tim Holtz Gold Metallic cardstock.  The DSP border is from SU Painted With Love that I've been hoarding saving since Valentines Day!  I finished the card off with Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Gold Confetti. I love those colors from TCC's awesome photo inspiration!

The Paper Players #399: A Sketch from Laurie

Welcome back to The Paper Players weekly challenge!  Our challenge this week is from the lovely Laurie and she has come up with a great sketch!

My card today uses all fun Catherine Pooler products.  I stamped the flourish from the Birds of a Feather stamp set with Midnight ink on the Smooth White Cardstock base.  I stamped them again on the Black Tie Gala DSP and lined them up.  The sentiment is from the Best in You stamp set.  The flower and leaf are from the Wonderful Wildflowers stamp set, stamped in Party Dress, Rockin' Red, & Grass Skirt, then die cut.  The vine is from the Perfect Vines die.  I added a few white dots and popped the flower up. I know I'll use this sketch over and over!  It was a fun card to make!

FMS #342

I hope you're enjoying some sun this weekend!  Before the sun broke through here, I wanted to play with the latest Freshly Made Sketch which I loved!

Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card for a neighbor.  Not my favorite type of card to make but I was happy with the result and hope it gives her some peace.

I stamped the textured background from SU's You've Got This with SU Crumb Cake ink on a Crumb Cake Notecard.  The SU Very Vanilla layer was first stamped with a text stamp from Catherine Pooler's Birds of a Feather stamp set and then I distressed the edges with Antique Linen before layering on the card base.  The sentiment is from Altenew's Parrot Paradise stamp set and stamped in a little darker brown, distressed, and layered over a snippet of ribbon.  The Zig watercolored floral is from SU's Petal Palette stamp & die bundle.  I finished it off with some SU glitter enamel dots which were not planned but covered up an inky finger 'oops.'

Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes

Happy Friday! The theme over at Seize the Birthday is Anything Goes with No Toppings this time around and I'm glad that I had time to play!  

I had watercolored up a few of Ellen Hutson's Mondo Sakura with Zigs that were just waiting for cards.  I fussy cut a portion of the bloom so I could pop it up over the b/w striped scrap on a Hero Arts black notecard base.  The sentiment from Altenew was white heat embossed on a black cardstock strip. This one will go to a special friend of mine that shares my love of gardening and always appreciates a pink or red flower!

Hoppy Birthday

Hoppy Birthday...bet you thought you'd see frogs here, didn't you?!  I thought about frogs for CASology's latest challenge with a cue of "Jumpy," but then I thought about my Labradoodle who can be a little jumpy (that's the doodle part :).  Anyway, neither won out.  I went with a birthday card for a neighbor girl who is also very jumpy...with a jump rope!

It's been so gray the last couple of days due to a pretty heavy marine layer.  I'm sorry the picture is not the best!  The jumpy little girl is from Stampendous and the sentiment from Sunny Studios.  I did super simple coloring with Copics and added a bit of washi to ground the sentiment.

Bottom Heavy

Happy Friday, LLC friends!  The latest challenge is not about OUR "bottoms," but to create cards that are "Bottom Heavy."  

I made a card using bits and scraps that were on my desk. I used leftover birdies from a card I made for The Paper Players CAS challenge and a fence die cut (MFT) from woodgrain cardstock hiding in my die cut bowl.  I inked blended a bit of blue sky and added some grass (Memory Box):

Cards in Envy: Feeling Blue and Distressed

Hello CIE friends!  The latest Cards in Envy Challenge starts today with a "Feeling Blue and Distressed" theme.  Don't think sad...think lots of blue for this one!  For my DT card, I went with blue Distress Ink:

Just in time for the Summer Solstice which is finally here on Thursday, June 21st, and I can pull out the flip flops!  The background was stenciled with Catherine Pooler's Swoop stencil and Salty Ocean Distress ink.  I think it looks like splashing in the water!  The flip flops were die cut out of colored fun foam using flip flop dies from The Stamps of Life.

Ka-Boom!

Hello friends!  A quick card this morning before it got too warm outside (and in)...not that I'm complaining.  This card is for the latest Freshly Made Sketches Challenge:

I always send out a few cards for the 4th of July to folks I know I won't be seeing.  I thought this sketch was perfect for a couple of fireworks!

There's lots of sparkle!

On SU Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the first layer of the MFT Fireworks stamp in Catherine Pooler Something Borrowed ink.  Then I stamped the second layer with Catherine Pooler Rockin' Red, then VersaMark, and then heat embossed with PK Glitz Chinese Firecracker Glitter EP.  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Happy 4th stamp set, heat embossed with Ranger White EP.  I used MFT's Wonky Stitched Rectangle die and layered on a SU Whisper White card base.  The sentiment was popped up and a few Queen & Co. Twinkle Stars added for good measure.  Ka-boom!

The Paper Players #398: A CAS Challenge from Jaydee

Welcome back, Paper Player Friends!  I hope you're having a fun Father's Day with those special Dads out there!  This week it's the talented Jaydee's turn to host the CAS challenge:

The theme is "Birds" and your Clean & Simple creation should include at least one bird.

On a Neenah Solar White card base, I blended some color to the background with Distress Inks (Mowed Lawn & Broken China).  I added some grass with a teeny stamp from Impress.  The birdbath die cut from MFT was cut from gray cardstock and the edges distressed with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.  The blue birdies were colored with Copics and die cut with the matching dies (MFT A Tweet Hello).  The sentiment from the same stamp set was white heat embossed and popped up.
