OWH Midweek Throwdown: Pink and Gray/Black Color Challenge
The Throwdown this week is to create a card using either pink & gray or pink & black. I've always liked that color combo! For my card I decided to go with the Love theme for donating to Operation Write Home. I used the last of one of my favorite paper pads from Doodlebug Designs. It feels good to use up a pad but now I want to get another one just like it! Thanks for stopping by and hope your week is going well!

OWH Memorial Day Bloghop 2014

I'm excited to be a part of Operation Write Home's Memorial Day Bloghop with Words 2 Scrap By! The team decided to use OWH Sketch #12 (an oldie but a goodie) and stick to a red, white & blue theme.
My card is an AnyHero Thank You Card. AnyHero mail includes cards and letters (or, with kids they can be drawings or coloring pages) from people across America with messages of gratitude and encouragement inside. We call them “AnyHero” letters because they’re going to be given out by our contacts to those who get little or no mail. All the scoop and guidelines can be found on the OWH website here.
Click here to return to W2SB's blog or here to return to the OWH Memorial Day Bloghop. Thanks for stopping by and happy hoppin'!
Supplies: Doodle Bug Design "Stars & Stripes" 6x6 Pad, Sizzix "Old Country Bloom" Die, Stampendous Sentiment Stamp, ColorBox Blueberry Ink, Judikins Clear Embossing Powder, ribbon and brad from stash, and 3D Crystal Lacquer on the stars.

California Golden Poppies
The Cards in Envy Challenge is for a May Flowers A2 Card. Cards need to be flat enough to mail without extra postage. Since I make cards for Operation Write Home, no problem! No towering flowers here!
For this card, I used the May Release from Doodle Pantry called "California" that includes these gorgeous Golden Poppies. I did some paper tole to pop them up a bit using Glossy Accents so I could control the height. I also added a little Zig Wink of Stella in orange to help them shimmer in the sun! Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the week!

OWH Sketch Challenge #224
I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day! Operation Write Home challenged us with Sketch #224 this week:
I did tweak this sketch a bit from a measurement perspective. I wanted to use the new release this month from Doodle Pantry called "Parrot Play." The colors of this image are so striking! Thanks for stopping by and don't forget the latest Doodle Pantry Challenge is still going on until May 24th.

OWH Sketch Challenge #223
Sketch #223 was posted on Operation Write Home last Sunday.
For my Thank You card, I used the Doodle Pantry image, sentiment & digi paper from the set called "Juicy Strawberry." We had ventured to Costco on Sunday and picked up the yummiest strawberries. So, I must have been hungry when I made this card! The great thing about Laurie's images is the PNG files which can be merged with others. I merged the strawberries with the yellow gingham background papers and was really happy with the result! I hope you have a great week, thank you "berry" much for stopping by, and don't forget to check out the challenges going on over at Doodle Pantry and Words 2 Scrap By!

ODBD May Challenge: Embossing
The May ODBD Challenge is to use embossing on your card. Our Daily Bread Designs will sponsor the shipping of up to two boxes for Operation Write Home if 50 entries are linked up. Today the goal is to try and hit 50 entries in one day. I'm up for that plus it helped that it is raining (make that pouring) here and my gardening is on hold :-)
For this card, I used two different embossing folders - clocks (The Paper Studio) & circles (Sizzix). I also heat embossed the sentiment with clear embossing powder. Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Well, April Showers bring May Flowers and it doesn't get any better than this! My two favorite hobbies, cardmaking & gardening, all at one time!
The fun May Challenge over at Words 2 Scrap By is "Bloom Where You Are Planted." I'm so excited and honored that Bobbi and Sybrina asked me to be on the W2SB I-Team full-time. Their challenges are creative and inspiring and I'm in some pretty awesome company! Thanks again, Ladies!
