The Paper Players #370: A Color Challenge from Nance

It's Sunday and time for another fun challenge from The Paper Players.  This is our Color Challenge week and the awesome Nance has come up with something a bit different - white on white!

Isn't that a gorgeous picture!  If I'm honest, I'll have to tell you that when I'm asked to do a white-on-white card, I freeze up a little.  Don't get me wrong, I think white cards are absolutely stunning and I'm sure yours will be!

I went with another Christmas card because it's Christmas in the craft room - on the floor, on the desk, on the fur kids...just about everywhere!

First, I added some score lines to the white card base for some interest and then stared at it for awhile.  Actually quite a while.  I decided to go with die cuts and pulled out Sizzix' Delicate Wings bird and the PEACE die from Ellen Hutson.  I die cut the beautiful bird out of white glitter cardstock and die cut PEACE three times, stacking them up.  I thought the bird needed a little somethin' so I used various leaf punches, silver metallic thread, pearls, and silver confetti to make a little bouquet tucked in it's beak.

We can't wait to see your white-on-white creations.  The design team has some wonderfully white inspiration for you so make sure you stop by:

  3. Provide a direct link to your blog post for your challenge entry.
  4. Please link your card to no more than FOUR challenges (including ours).

Thanks for visiting - Have a great week!

Cards in Envy: White on White

Welcome back for another Cards in Envy Challenge!  This time around we are looking for white cards that are flat enough to fit in an envy.   If you want to use black ink or some other color to stamp your sentiment or image (no coloring), that's ok!

For my DT card, there was no stamping involved.   I do apologize for the photo...white card, gray day and this is what I got!  The supplies I used were Neenah Solar White cardstock, MFT Blueprints 31, Concord & 9th Bouquet Die, Stamps of Life Hello die (with vellum shadow), Pretty Pink Posh clear droplets and, of course, Wink of Stella.

We can't wait to see what you come up with!  Have a great week and happy crafting 😎

Cards in Envy - White on White

Happy Monday and welcome to another fun Cards in Envy Challenge!  This time we are looking for A2 cards that are mostly white and will fit in an envy for mailing.  Any theme is welcome!

For my DT card, I went with a birthday card that I hope looks good enough to drink :-)

This is actually my second attempt.  My first one ended up all brown after I spilled a cup of coffee on it!  Eeeek!  That's the challenge for me with white cards...they usually always end up with "spots" or "boo-boo's!"  The card base measures 3.75" wide and 5.25" tall to allow for the overhang of the whipped cream on the top and the label on the right.  The complete card measures 4.25" x 5.50" so it will fit nicely in an A2 envelope.

Thanks so much for stopping by and we look forward to seeing your White on White projects!  Here's the stuff I used:

Cardstock:  Neenah Solar White, Bazzill Cocoa
Stamp(s):  Great Impressions
Ink(s):  Memento Rich Cocoa, Distress Antique Linen (for shading)
Dies:  My Favorite Things "Hot Cocoa Cups," and Sizzix (label)

I'd also like to play along for the first time with The Card Concept Challenge #46 (A Warm Heart) using a clean & layered style, inspired by the cocoa and marshmallow heart!

And, hopefully I made the deadline for Shopping Our Stash #234 - Something New.  I've missed playing along but my move is complete and all that's left is the unpacking!  My something new is the Hot Cocoa Cups die set from My Favorite Things.

Have an amazing week!
