FMS #379: A Sketch by Judy

Wishing you a Happy St. Patrick's Day and a very quick post!  The family was Irish for the day and everything was green. It was a fun day and I hope you had a great time too! I made this card yesterday but forgot to post for FMS #379. I realized I still have time so yay for me!

perfectly WONDERFUL!

Back again with the third and final card I made yesterday during the downpour! I really wanted to play along over at Freshly Made Sketches since it had also been a while:

MFT Jumbo Abstract Art was used for the watercolor stripes with Distress Ink on a stitched rectangle. I had this SU Petal Palette die cut on my desk, all colored up and waiting for a project. I popped it up and added a sentiment from Altenew's 'You Are' stamp set.  Finished the card off with some Wink of Stella and Pretty Pink Posh Confetti.

Have a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by!

The Paper Players #407: A Sketch from Jaydee

It's time for another fun challenge over at The Paper Players!  This week is hosted by the talented Jaydee and she has come up with a wonderful sketch:

I thought this sketch was perfect to use some patterned paper that I've been hoarding saving!

On a SU Mint Macaron card base, I layered three different sized stitched strips of SU Tranquil Textures DSP.  I just love the colors in that paper!  I die cut 'hugs' from My Favorite Things 3 times in Whisper White and layered them up for the sentiment.  I inked up the octopus from SU Sea of Textures and popped it up over some die cut sea grass from the SU Under the Sea Framelits Dies.  I finished it off with a few Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow Confetti sequins for bubbles.  I'm not sure I'd like to be hugged by an octopus, but I think my grandson will get a laugh.  He was just here for a visit and was looking for one in the tide pools when we weren't building forts!

Check out the DT's blogs for some great inspiration:

Hello Friend!

Hi friends!  I have a card today for a couple of challenges:

Freshly Made Sketches #343
The Card Concept #96 (Inspired by colors, table sign, and gold elements)

I thought the FMS sketch was perfect for a clean and layered look for this card.  I painted a watercolor wash with SU Calypso Coral and gold heat embossed the big sentiment from Mama Elephant. I layered the watercolor piece onto Tim Holtz Gold Metallic cardstock.  The DSP border is from SU Painted With Love that I've been hoarding saving since Valentines Day!  I finished the card off with Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Gold Confetti. I love those colors from TCC's awesome photo inspiration!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

FMS #342

I hope you're enjoying some sun this weekend!  Before the sun broke through here, I wanted to play with the latest Freshly Made Sketch which I loved!

Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card for a neighbor.  Not my favorite type of card to make but I was happy with the result and hope it gives her some peace.

I stamped the textured background from SU's You've Got This with SU Crumb Cake ink on a Crumb Cake Notecard.  The SU Very Vanilla layer was first stamped with a text stamp from Catherine Pooler's Birds of a Feather stamp set and then I distressed the edges with Antique Linen before layering on the card base.  The sentiment is from Altenew's Parrot Paradise stamp set and stamped in a little darker brown, distressed, and layered over a snippet of ribbon.  The Zig watercolored floral is from SU's Petal Palette stamp & die bundle.  I finished it off with some SU glitter enamel dots which were not planned but covered up an inky finger 'oops.'

Thanks so much for stopping by! The sun broke through and I'm off to the Sand & Sawdust Festival.  Lots of fantastic woodcarving artists and sand sculptures.  Let's hope the tide doesn't come in!  Have a great day!

Cards in Envy: Feeling Sketchy!

Welcome back, CIE friends!  Today we're kicking off our new challenge over at Cards in Envy - Feeling Sketchy!  Create a card using one of your favorite card sketches and let us know where the sketch came from, including the link, if possible.

I have an entire file of favorite sketches.  It's where I go to when my mojo is MIA!  For my DT card, I used a recent sketch I loved from Paper Craft Crew, PCC287:

MFT Steel Gray Cardstock
MFT Musical Background
Stampin' Up "Lots of Happy" Zig colored florals & vellum die cuts
Stampin' Up "Petal Palette" bird
Stamps of Life sentiment
Nuvo silver glitter drops; white watercolor splatters

Thanks for stopping by!  We can't wait to see your Feeling Sketchy entries.  Make sure you give credit where credit is due for the sketch used and keep your cards flat enough to fit in an envy.  Have fun!

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #044

Hi There!  I'm playing along over at the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge:

I made this card while playing with my SU "Lots of Happy" refill kit.  You can see another one (my DT card) over at The Paper Players current sketch challenge.

I was happy to see that this card works for the top row, across:  Stripes, Thank You, Add Dimension (Impress sentiment cut 3 times).

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a great week!

The Paper Players #390: Sketch Challenge from Jaydee

Hi Paper Players Friends!  It's Sunday and time for a new challenge.  This week, the awesome Jaydee is hosting a Sketch Challenge that is so versatile...my favorite kind!  Take a look!

I fell in love with the "Lots of Happy" card kit from Stampin' Up but screwed up when ordering.  I ended up with the refill kit but it had all the fun elements I liked, just not the stamp set.  I have quite a few stamps that worked just fine so it ended up being a happy mistake after all.  The gold embossed sentiment is from Gina K.'s wreath builder kit which fit perfectly for this card.  I colored the flower elements with Zig Clean Color Markers and an aqua brush and added gold leaf die cuts from SU Petals and More.  I like how it turned out!

We can wait to see what you come up with using this fab sketch.  Check out the rest of the Design Team's beauties:
