CASology: Heal

Hi again! Another challenge I've missed playing in this summer has been CASology. When I saw the cue word, I knew I wanted (and needed) to make a sympathy card.  

Simple masking and Distress Ink blending gave me the sunset backdrop I was looking for. The wheat stalks and sentiment (Hero Arts) were stamped with VersaFine ink and heat embossed.

I hope you're enjoying some sun this weekend!  Before the sun broke through here, I wanted to play with the latest Freshly Made Sketch which I loved!

Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card for a neighbor.  Not my favorite type of card to make but I was happy with the result and hope it gives her some peace.

I stamped the textured background from SU's You've Got This with SU Crumb Cake ink on a Crumb Cake Notecard.  The SU Very Vanilla layer was first stamped with a text stamp from Catherine Pooler's Birds of a Feather stamp set and then I distressed the edges with Antique Linen before layering on the card base.  The sentiment is from Altenew's Parrot Paradise stamp set and stamped in a little darker brown, distressed, and layered over a snippet of ribbon.  The Zig watercolored floral is from SU's Petal Palette stamp & die bundle.  I finished it off with some SU glitter enamel dots which were not planned but covered up an inky finger 'oops.'

Happy Friday!  A quick card today that I almost forgot to link up to CASology's latest challenge.  I made it a couple of days ago when it was pouring down rain and too dark to take a photo!  Still a little dark but at least it's dry. 

Sympathy cards are always a difficult card for me to make.  I'm glad this challenge keeps it clean and simple.

On a Neenah Solar White card base, I added a Memory Box red stitched heart die cut that I cut with scissors for a broken heart.  The sentiment is a very old rubber stamp (mfg unknown).

CASology #215: Bark

Hi there!  Today I put together a couple of cards.  The first one was for the latest CASology Cue Card:

You'd think I would have gone with the dog bark but, unfortunately, I found myself in need of another sympathy card. 

I think the bark of birch trees is so beautiful.  I used my birch tree stencil for the focal point, cut it down and popped it up on ivory cardstock.  I added a simple sympathy sentiment (Avery Elle) and then stared at the card for what seemed like an hour.  I walked away and came back.  I kept thinking it needs more which is always my challenge with CAS cards...knowing when to stop!  Anyway, I decided to leave well enough alone.  I was going for a "peaceful" look and hopefully it will be received that way.

CASology Week #197 - Tear

To tear or not to tear.  I felt like tearing something but then a tear came because I just learned that a dear friend's 11-year-old fur baby, Cowboy, went to play fetch in heaven.  I'm a long time rescue Mom and totally understand how the loss of a pet affects your life.  I wanted to send him a note, so here's my card for the latest CASology Challenge:
