Splash Party!

I'm back again with a card I made this past weekend for the Rubbernecker Challenge #3:  All About the Animals.  I'd been itching to use the Splash Party stamp from Rubbernecker that I've had for a while so this was the perfect time!

On Bristol watercolor paper, I inked up the stamps with Distress Inks and spritzed with water.  I used Abandoned Coral for the splashing flamingos and Mermaid Lagoon for the water.  I also created a watercolor striped background using the same Mermaid Lagoon color and added a few more splatters.  It's hard to see but I added Glossy Accents to a number of the "water drops."  The sentiment is a die cut from The Stamps of Life.   Don't they look like they're having so much fun?  Makes me want to jump in and join them!

Happy Anniversary

Happy Friday!  One of the cards I made today is for the latest Rubbernecker Challenge where the theme is Love & Romance.  Although it's not required to use a Rubbernecker stamp (but why wouldn't you want to :), I pulled out a new to me watercolor stamp called Evening Calm (1029).

I used it a little bit different this time.  I stamped the sketched outline in VersaMark and heat embossed in gold on Bristol cardstock.  Rather than use the second "watercolor" stamp in the set, I just used my Zigs and colored the flowers and leaves of the stamped image.  I then added gold embossed dots with a VersaMark pen and the Happy Anniversary sentiment from The Stamps of 

Life.  The gold metallic/natural twine is from May Arts.

Watercoloring Fun!

Happy Weekend!  I can't believe it's the end of January!  I've spent the past couple of days playing with some new stamps from Rubbernecker.  I think I need an intervention.  I am rapidly becoming addicted to their watercolor stamps!  I'm definitely not the best at coloring.  Copics sometimes scare me.   But...these stamps are so much fun and give you such a free watercolor look ~ and you can color outside the "lines" which makes me happy :).

My first card uses the "Tangerine Trio" stamp set.  I decided to stick with the color sample provided with the set and added a watercolor stripe background (MFT).  I used Distress Inks & water on watercolor cardstock for everything except the sentiment (Stampabilities) which I stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black.    Messy splatters and May Arts natural twine finished this off.  I'd like to link this up to the new Rubbernecker Challenge - Birthday that I just found today!

The second card also uses a Rubbernecker stamp called "Flowers in the Breeze."  I again used Distress Inks & water with an Ellen Hutson's "Many Thanks" word die by Julie.  I added some Nuvo Blue Lagoon Crystal Drops and Spectrum Noir Crystal Clear Sparkle pen on the sentiment for a little shimmer.  I'll be linking this up to the Live Love Cards Community Challenge for January featuring cool colors.
