Tuesday Morning Sketches #268 is a good one!  Well, actually they're ALL good...but I liked how quickly this one went together :-)

I'm still chuggin' along with Halloween cards so this was a chance to use my favorite witch die.  I sprayed the die cut with MFT Shimmer Spray and popped it up over an embossed "moon" I used the top circle for the sentiment.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you're having a good week!

OWH Fall Colors

Happy first day of Fall!  I really like this time of year and all the leaves changing colors.   Operation Write Home's Mid-Month Throwdown is Fall Colors.  This works out great since that is the color of all the scraps covering my desk right now!  I went with a simple thank you card this time:

Surprise!

Busy week but I didn't want it to get away from me without working on Operation Write Home's latest sketch challenge - #239.

For this card, I stayed pretty true to the sketch except switched the sentiment to the left (to cover up a boo-boo:-).  I used one of the new Doodle Pantry mid-month releases called "Gift Monkey."  I think he's adorable!!  You can check out all the new September images HERE.

Happy Fall Y'all!

What's better than the first of the month for Doodle Pantry new releases?  Mid-month releases!!!  I used one of the new images from the "Just Nutty" set for this card. 

I fussy cut a portion of this adorable squirrel so he would dangle from the banner.  The background was stamped with a woodgrain stamp, clear embossed, and inked with Distress inks.  The "bouquet" of leaves and acorn are from various punches and dies.  This little guy is so cute, I know that I will use him a lot!  Please check out all the new mid-month releases HERE.   Happy Fall Y'all!

Happy Fall

Welcome to another fun challenge for Cards in Envy!  The theme is "Entwined" and the challenge is to use a bit of twine and/or string/thread on your A2 card.  I love this time of year and jumped in to make a fall-themed card.

I used DP from a My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper pad called "Sunshine."  The image is from Doodle Pantry's "Harvest Bounty" set (yummy) and the stamped & embossed sentiment is from The Stamps of Life's "leaves4fall".  I mounted the image on a couple of die cuts from My Favorite Things, threading May Arts twine around the brown circle ending with a bow after attaching the tag and die cut leaves from Memory Box.

On the Road Again

Good Sunday Morning!  Doodle Pantry is sponsoring another fantastic challenge over on the Sentimental Sundays Blog and the theme is "Let's ride" (vehicles).   For my card, I used the cool red mustang image from the Doodle Pantry set called "Classic Cars 2."   I fussy cut the car and popped it up on some map DP from Paper Pizazz.  The sentiment is from another great Doodle Pantry set called "On the Road."   I added some washi tape for the road and a flourish from The Paper Studio.

For My Teacher

Tuesday Morning Sketches #266 was used for this card.  The challenge also has a twist (optional) for "Back to School."  I still have quite a bit of paper left in my DCWV "Grade School" paper pad plus my grandson started school this year.  He's so cute with his Ninja Turtle backpack and lunchbox :-)

For my card, I used an image from Doodle Pantry's "Books & Apple" set (which happens to be FREE with purchase).  The sentiment is from another cute school-themed set called "Book Ants."  I colored the image with Copics and added an A+ chalkboard tag to the bow.

I Love You Mower

Welcome!  Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the  Aud Sentiments Challenge - Cards for Your Man.  This month one of Doodle Pantry's new releases is called Yard Yabber.  And, you guessed it...it's all about manly yard tools!  Could be girly tools too...I can yield a pretty mean blower :-)

For this card, I printed the pre-colored lawn mower image onto white cardstock and then fussy cut the bottom half of the image with a craft knife.  I die cut and embossed the "grass" and added to the base card, slipping it underneath the bottom half of the image.  The sentiment (also from the set) was die cut into a word bubble and popped up.  To finish up, I added three silver dot embellishments and used a little Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents on the mower.  Easy peasey!  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out the Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge #50 this month! 

What Came First?

Shopping Our Stash Challenge #168 theme is Chicken!  I remembered that I had bought this Chick and Egg die at a yard sale this summer thinking I would use it for Easter.  But...I can't wait for Easter and I thought this would be the perfect challenge to put it to use.   I hope chicken legs count!

Boy, did I have to dust off the old crimper for this challenge!  Shopping Our Stash Challenge #167 theme is "Don't Crimp My Style."  I used Sizzix dies to cut a flower and leaves from my crimped paper and mounted them on a brown felt doily.  The DP is from My Mind's Eye and the sentiment is an old Hero Arts stamp.

Purple & Gold

Happy September 1st...already!  As schools start and the buses start rolling, the new Cards in Envy Challenge is "School Colors".  My card is Purple & Gold (although the photo looks a little blue, doesn't it?) for the University of Washington...Go Dawgs!  The sweet cheerleader image is from Mo's Digital Pencil and colored with Copics.  The border punch is Martha Stewart and I inlaid mini clear rhinestones colored with a Y17 Copic marker.  Hope you enjoy this challenge and I can't wait to see your school spirit!

Hello!  I can't believe it's September and it seems like so many things start to change this time of year.  Especially the big, old maple tree in the background when the leaves change into so many different colors.  It's beautiful but I won't be saying that as I rake, rake, and rake some more!
