CFC129: Shades of Gray
CAS-ual Fridays Challenge is back and I'm excited about the recent changes! The CFC129 theme is Shades of Gray and, even though we now have until March 21st to play, I had a new stamp that was begging to be inked up. I have a cloud punch but I wanted a bigger, fluffier cloud so I used the frosting stamp and die from a birthday set. I added tiny rhinestones to the raindrops and finished it off with my new stamp. Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific weekend...in cute boots!

OWH Midweek Throwdown: Teal or Turquoise Color Challenge
The Midweek Throwdown this week is a color challenge using teal or turquoise. I thought I would create a general card with no sentiment and use a western theme. Gosh, I loved this turquoise wood paper when I saw it and I like it even better on a card. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the week!
Supplies: The Paper Studio "Turquoise Wood Fence" DSP, Bazzill Basics Brown, DCWV "Linen Closet" Mat Stack, Paper Zone Curious Lightspecks Cardstock, Stampabilities "Mare & Colt" Stamp, Ranger Coffee Archival Ink, Ranger Distress Inks (Brushed Corduroy & Tumbled Glass, Spellbinders Circle Dies, Tim Holtz Brads, and package twine.

Western-Themed Cards
Howdy! Operation Write Home and the Scrap Wrangler put out a special request for Western-themed cards. You know you're a really good paper hoarder when you can go through your papers and find some bandana and denim-type paper that you didn't know you had! I put together a card using both papers, paper piercing seams, and adding faux stitching. The sentiment is computer generated. Thanks for stopping by and sittin' a spell :-)
Supplies: Pop Tones' Cherry Cardstock, Paper Pizazz DSP, Edamame Western font (free from dafont.com), Silver Mini Candis, and twine.

OWH Sketch #213
It's Sketch Sunday at Operation Write Home and this one is a sweet and easy one that had me headed for the scrap box. The sample card was from Deb S. and it's fabulous! There's a rain delay at the Daytona 500 and I'm calling a rain delay on any housework today. I put together two cards using all scraps, some washi tape, and a couple of cute die cuts from the Vintage Collector series (DCWV). Thanks for stopping by and have a great week...I can't believe it's almost March!! And...since it's almost March, don't forget to stop by Sybrina and Bobbi's blog, Words 2 Scrap By, on March 1st. They're getting ready for the Oscars and I'll bet the challenge is going to be a good one!

OWH Midweek Throwdown: Let Your Light Shine!
This week's Throwdown is to incorporate light into the card design. With these grey and wet days, it was nice to pull together some sunshine! For my card, I used the negative of a rectangle die cut and layered it over the sun, stamped the sentiment and smiley face, and tied some twine. Easy Peasey! Thanks for stopping by and here's hoping for some sunshine in our future...soon!
Supplies: Neenah Solar White Cardstock, The Paper Studio Yellow Cardstock, Spellbinders' Rectangle Die, My Favorite Things' Sun Ray Die, VersaFine Onyx Black Ink, The Stamps of Life "faces4stamps" Stamp Set, Maya Road B/W Twine, and Recollections Decorative Brad.

DPDC43: Any Digi Goes
The Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge 43 Theme is Any Digi Goes. Although you can use any company's digi, if you use a DP digi you are entered for the final drawing and you get a free featured product! Sweet! I've had Gigi Giraffe from DP for a little while and thought she should make her debut for this Challenge. Plus...I had some great "Chic Giraffe" paper from my LSS so...here she is! Thanks so much for stopping by!
OWH Sketch Challenge #212
The Sketch Challenge for OWH today screamed for scraps! It's a beautifully simple layout inspired by Lori. You can visit her blog here. I used all Valentines Day scraps for this card...the 'ol Scrap Wrangler would be proud! Thanks for visiting and have a great week!

CFC128: So Long
The challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays is in honor of their Girl Friday Team as they finish out their term. There was also a twist to create a card that is long and not a traditional A2. My 3 x 5 card is below. I used Impression Obsession's "Clouds" as the background stamp, Tim Holtz' "Lost and Found" Stamp Set for the birds flying off into the sky, and a sentiment from The Stamps of Life "thanks4twoyears" stamp set. I thought the birds represented the team as they flew off to new adventures along with a big thank you for their time and inspiration. Thanks for visiting!

OWH Midweek Throwdown: Punny Cards
Thank you, Allison, for selecting my card as the sample for this Throwdown! I'm very flattered :-)
Card #1: I wanted to play in this challenge because of a funny "punny" stamp set I received last month from the Stamps of Life that I hadn't a chance to ink up yet! The stamp set also comes with dies if you're a Die Hard Club Member. So much fun!

Words 2 Scrap By Challenge #2: The Colours of the World
The W2SB Challenge #2 features the Olympic Flag for inspiration. After watching the opening ceremonies, I thought I would create a CAS card focusing on the grand celebration of the Olympics - the athleticism, diversity, and spirit of the games. I used this older Penny Black stamp set called "Trims" that has a bunch of funky shapes. I picked one that made me think of fireworks. Using Copics to color matching rhinestones and adding a banner sentiment from Hero Arts finished off this card. Thanks for a great challenge...I enjoyed it!

CFC127: Over the Edge
The CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #127 was to create a project that had some type of element that extends over the edge. The Valentine's card I created used a bracket die for the sentiment and a couple of steaming, foaming lattes in my favorite black coffee cups. Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies: Neenah Solar White Cardstock, Pop Tones' Black Licorice Cardstock, Echo Park "Dots & Stripes" 6x6 Paper Pad, My Favorite Things' Bracket Tab, Memory Box Cups of Cheer Dies, Avery Elle "Love Notes" Stamp Set, EK Success Heart Stickos, and Viva Cream Pearl Pen (for foam).

OWH Sketch Challenge #210
I really liked this clean and simple sketch challenge over at OWH created from a card by Donna H. You can see her great card here. This challenge is also Card #3 for Card Bowl 2014.
Sketch #210:
I made two cards this morning before Super Bowl prep begins :-) The first one is a masculine card using this great embossed silver foil paper I found in my stash. It looks like the running boards on our truck! The second card is an Any Hero card using scraps of that same paper for some very shiny stars. I did have to flip the sketch on the second card so the sentiment would fit. Now it's time to get ready for some football! Thanks for stopping by and GO HAWKS!
