Somebunny Special

Good morning! I have a card that I hope fits two challenges over at CASology and Freshly Made Sketches:

I used the Misti to repeatedly layout the Paper Smooches sentiment and stamped with Catherine Pooler's Party Dress Ink.  This time I actually thought ahead and stamped multiples!  Now, I felt like I was a little lazy since the bunny is from an adorable sheet of puffy stickers that I found at Hobby Lobby.  I rarely use stickers but I thought it was perfect for this layout.  And, since I made multiples for the caregivers at my Dad's assisted living facility, it worked for me!

Pizza My Heart

Good morning!  I have a quick card for the latest CASology challenge:

So, with a cue of MELT, I went with pizza :)  My thinking was Pizza = Cheese + Melt(ed).  Right?

I found this mini stencil with triangles that I stenciled on for the background with Distress ink.  I was thinking they looked like pizza slices!  I stamped the cute little pepperoni pizza slice and sentiment from Simon Says Stamp, then did some simple Copic coloring.  I did add little green pepper chunks because a girl has to have her veggies too.

Cards in Envy: Black & White Challenge

Good Morning, CIE friends!  It's the third Monday of the month and time for a new challenge over at Cards in Envy.  This time we are looking for Black & White with just a smidge of any other color. Smidge is a technical term for a very small amount :)  We really want to see mainly black & white on your card project.

Here's my black & white DT card with a "smidge" of yellow for inspiration:

I clear heat embossed the Floral Fantasy background (MFT) on Neenah Solar White and layered it on a black Hero Arts notecard.  Love these notecards ~ they are white on the inside.  I added a fishtail banner (MFT) and sentiment/die cut from Sunny Studio.  I did die cut about 4 of the 'Color' word so I could stack 'em up.  The second part of the sentiment was heat embossed with white detail EP. Lastly, I added a few MME yellow enamel dots.  

We had so much fun looking at all the beautiful entries in our last challenge.  There's so much amazing talent!  Please play along with us this time and show us your black & white cards with a "smidge" of any color ~ just make sure they are flat enough to fit in an envy :)

Good Egg

Happy Saturday!  I had some time this morning to work on my Easter cards and used the current sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for one of them:

I did take a little turn from the original sketch.  When I layered the egg down, I really thought it would look better if I die cut it so I hope I didn't stray too much!

The card base was embossed with an old Cuttlebug EF.  The DP is from a Doodlebug Designs' Hello Sunshine 6x6 pad.  One of my faves and I wish I had hoarded more of it.  The egg took a little bit of time but I really like how it turned out.  First I dry embossed with the SSS Oval of Flowers die.  Then I cut a mask from the same die and used the negative to place over the embossed areas.  I blended three Distress Oxide inks (Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade, & Fossilized Amber) over the raised portions.  After removing the mask, I heat embossed with clear EP.  Finally, I die cut the oval (MFT) and added the sentiment from SSS Some Bunny stamp set. 

I thought this was a great sketch (as usual) and know that I'll use it again and again!  Thanks so much for stopping by ~ Have a fantastic weekend!

Shopping Our Stash #294 - Luck O' the Irish (use green)

I had this Distress Ink background in my stash, framed it with Mama Elephant die cut, and then tried to figure out the rest.  I thought I'd go with an Easter card and use the Hero Arts layering bunny die.  I added two Easter egg die cuts (Memory Box) and stamped/white heat embossed the sentiment.  The more I looked at this bunny, he looks so serious (or sad?).  Like he's wondering where in the heck did those eggs come from!

CASology: Foliage

Hello again!  I was able to play in a couple of challenges today and the sun came out...a good day! My first card is for the latest challenge over at CASology:

I like ferns.  I really like ferns in my yard because the deer do not eat them!  For my card, I used a fern image and sentiment from Wplus9, stamped in Catherine Pooler's Aquatini ink after I had stamped a shadow image in SSS Fog. I also used a white gel pen for little "spores."

Happy Birthday Little Brother!

In our family, any birthday that ends with an "oh" is a landmark event.  My little brother will soon be celebrating a landmark of a birthday, so...perfect time to play along with CASology's latest challenge:

I thought he would appreciate a card that went right to the point :)  The background stamp (Altenew) was inked up with Memento Desert Sand ink.  I die cut the numbers out of chipboard and inked up with Espresso Distress Ink.  Finally, I added the sentiment (MFT) in VersaFine Vintage Sepia and heat embossed with clear EP.  That's it...no glitter or shimmer...just a CAS guy card!

W2CB #39: Proverbs & Blessings

Hello W2CB friends!  It's time for another quote inspired challenge over at Words 2 Craft By!  This month we are celebrating proverbs and blessings.  The quote this month is an Irish proverb in line with St. Patrick's Day:

A good friend is like a four-leaf clover: hard to find and lucky to have.

I have one little shamrock die and no stamps, so I had to get a little creative.  I made my own stencil out of a piece of acetate from the die and inked up my background with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink.  Then I die cut the little shamrock 5 times out of DCWV green cardstock and stacked them up.  The sentiment was a From the Heart digi, layered on a couple of stitched arch MFT die cuts.

Don't worry if you don't have any St. Patrick's Day supplies.  Think green, or lucky, or friendship, or just use a proverb/blessing of your choice and have fun!  We hope you'll play along with us!

Cards in Envy: Keep it Simple!

Welcome back to another fun and easy challenge over at Cards in Envy!  This time around we are looking for clean and simple cards that are flat enough to fit in an envy.  Any theme is welcome, just keep it simple.  Easy, right?  

My DT card took about 10 minutes to put together with simple stamping and die cutting.

Using the Misti, I laid out Hero Arts alphabet stamps spelling "thanks," staggering them for a little interest.  I used Memento inks in rainbow colors and stamped each letter individually.  When I was done, I die cut the rectangle border and an inside white layer for the yellow card base.  Adhered the layers and done!

Pretty Peacock!

Hi there!  I put together a birthday card for my dear SIL to play along with The Card Concept's latest Challenge:

Gosh, I love these colors and they just might be my favorite color combo!

I used the Paisley Peacock stamps and dies, along with Lime Rickey, Grass Skirt, Aquatini, and Fiesta Blue inks - all from Catherine Pooler and the Stamp of Approval.  The sentiment is from Concord & 9th called 'All Year Long' and includes all the months of the year.  And, since March is my birthday month too, I thought the sentiment was very appropriate!  LOL!

Beautiful Butterflies

Hi there!  Here's a card I put together on Monday and almost forgot to link it!  I used the latest sketch challenge over at The Paper Players:

I rarely make monochromatic cards but thought I would change things up using the Beautiful Butterflies images and sentiment from My Favorite Things and MFT's Blu Raspberry ink.  The background was stamped over and over with the new Wonky Backgrounds by Julie over at Ellen Hutson.  I kind of like how this turned out ~ maybe because I'm crazy about that ink color!

What's Poppin'?

Good Morning!  It's time for another CASology Challenge and I couldn't wait for my Academy Award inspired card...did you watch?

What goes better with a good movie than a crunchy handful of buttered popcorn?

I used an older Stamps of Life set called "popcorn2stamp" and, after some stamping and masking, I did some simple Copic coloring (because that's how I roll) to color up the popcorn container and puffs of buttery goodness.
