Seas the Day!

FINALLY, I had some time to play along with a few challenges.  I've missed playing along over at CASology the past few weeks, so thought I would try to squeeze this one in for their current challenge...which is their 300th btw!  Congratulations!

My thought was that there is major excitement for the Copper River Salmon which hit our region this weekend.  At $60 per pound, the closest I'll get to one this year was to play on the cue word of Copper and show a "fish" splashing.

But, as you can probably tell, it's a Mermaid's Tail!  So let's just say I went with the obvious and used copper metallic cardstock and heat embossed copper glitter embossing powder.  The splash was smooshed with Distress Inks.  Either way, it was a fun card to make!

The Paper Players #394: A CAS Challenge from Laurie

Greetings Paper Players!  Our Paper Players Challenge this Sunday is hosted by the lovely Laurie and it is a Clean and Simple (CAS) one featuring "Blooms":

I've had this Dahlia line art stamp from Impress for quite a while and thought it would be perfect for this challenge.  I stamped it with Catherine Pooler's Party Dress ink and debated about coloring it completely.  I decided to leave well enough alone because the line art is so pretty on it's own.  I did add some Copic shading around the petals' edges.  I used Nuvo drops for the center.  The sentiment die cut is from Concord & 9th's Painted Rose set, cut in black cardstock.  Finally, I added some Pretty Pink Posh Jewels for a little bling.

Cards in Envy Challenge: One Layer Card

The Paper Players #392: A Theme Challenge from Nance

It's a Tea Party over at The Paper Players this week!  Our lovely hostess, Nance, is looking for Tea-themed projects this week:

Aren't those tea cups beautiful? I'll admit that when I saw the theme this week, I said 'Uh oh" to myself.  I have quite a few coffee stamps but I couldn't recall anything with tea!  I started digging and found one stamp set from Darcie (at least 7 years old) and one tea cup die from Memory Box (probably just as old).  Isn't it great to find things you've never used before?!  I had so much fun, I made two cards.  The second one was to use up the pretty scraps from the Authentique 6x6 paper pad I used on the first:
